pray for Sharon and Peace

05.01.2006 09:18

A 'Tyrant' - really - it is quite rare for tyrants to come to power via legitimate elections as Sharon did in the only democracy in the Middle East.

He has continued to fight terrorism in order to protect innocent civilians and at the same time has brought the region closer to peace by disengaging from Gaza, albeit unilaterally (as Arafat could no longer be trusted to act in the interests of his people) and was moving towards a full disengagement from other disputed territories under the newly formed Kadima party.

Unfortunately he has now suffered a stroke and the chance for peace in the Region has therefore suffered a major setback. If he does not recover enough to continue in his task, I truly hope that Kadima under Olmert and with the guidance of Peres continues in their mission to seperate from the Palestinians.

It is sad that Sharon is labelled as a tyrant by the same people who would never see fit to condemn Mugabe, Mobutu, Bashar Al-Assad, Quadafi and Ahmedinejad; the worst human rights violators in the World - but then we know the reason for that!

My death wish on Sharon seems to have worked!

From the Dead Partry of New Year's Eve 2005: http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2006/01/330710.html

My own personal worst wishes for 2006 are for the following assholes:

1/Dumbo Dubya
2/Tony Bliar
3/Dick `Lon` Cheney`
4/ Paul Werewolfowitz
5/Condolleeza Shite
6/ Madeleine Allshite
7/ Donald Rumsfeld
8/Ariel Sharon
9/General Pinochet
10/ David Aaronovitch

My good wishes go to the long suffering people of Iraq who I hope can drive out the insurgents (i.e. the 160,000 illegal occupation troops) and get the benefit of their oil to rebuild their own country with no greedy fucking contractors like Halliburton ripping them off.

Best wishes to all at ANSWER, IAC, STW, SSP, SWP and Edinburgh Stop the War.

FUCK BLAIR AND FUCK BUSH –or do they fuck each other?

They certainly fuck up the world.

Gloating over a man's death?

05.01.2006 10:54

Christ's teeth, people -- this is a man's life hanging by a thread. And all the radical left can do is gloat inanely. What precisely does this achieve? No wonder we're not taken seriously!

Very crass

05.01.2006 11:17

Well Mr O'Hanlon, what an intelligent posting.

I see you have chosen not to target Ahmedinejad who believes gay people should be stoned to death, fills his prisons with political opponents and has been behind countless 'vanishings'. Nor do you list Mugabewho has caused slaughter of white farm owners; similarly you have not mentioned Zaraqawi (who you appear to champion) who has murdered people in hospitals, funerals, markets and has beheaded numerous innocent people.

No - instead you appear to have chosen, inter alia, David Aronovitch - a journalist - ok, he may be annoying - but not as bad as Zaraqawi.

Even the sensible members of the PA accept that Sharon was the best chance for peace (believe it or not - only right wingers can make peace - look at Begin and Egypt!) - and yet for your own sad misuderstanding of what is a very complicated situation, you cheer his illness; despite it meaning that the newly formed Kadima party which is geared towards creating a Palestinian State will suffer.

How sad that your little brain cannot comprehend the true meaning of your idiotic comments.

J&P

Explain this then j&p ...

05.01.2006 11:34

I condemn and label as tyrants:

Mugabe
Mobutu
Imin
Botha
Bush
Alawi
Sharon

... to name but a few.

You will notice a few things:

One .. the list is not complete
Two .. a lot of those on this little list have recieved support from - among others, usa, uk & israel
Three .. they have all been elected in supposedly fair and open procedures (although charges of curruption, fruad and intimidation have been leveled at all)!
Four .. I don't include your Arab enemies on the list (just because it is too convienient for you and because I wish to annoy!)

Perhaps you could explain to me if I am a plain old anti-semite or the more complicated self hater?

A lighter world

Thatcher is also highly likely to go this year and if they execute their old buddy Saddam so with lard boy Sharon gone that will be three less monsters on this Earth.

Happy New Year!

Eat greens

Ariel Sharon will be burning in Hell soon, hasbara trolls!

05.01.2006 12:45

So the butcher of Sabra and Shatilla is about to die a million slow painful deaths in the bowels of Hell.
May every Palestinian's death he has caused be avenged through eternity!

JUSTICE AT LAST!

righteousness prevails at last!

Sharon

05.01.2006 13:28

I find it weird that so many Israelis Have so much love for sharon.Under most peoples terms the guy is an ultra warlord with much blood on his hands...A bit like Saddam in that respect-remember all those crowds of Iraqis chanting "our blood for you saddam".The Israelis are now doing the same for Sharon.I could never have any love for a UK leader who behaves like Sharon(yes you TONY,you warmongering gimp),how can the Israelis?Just what good has this man done for Israel? We are 3 months away from a possible Nuclear exchange with Iran due to sharons way of militarism remember-But sharon is great, really!
When does a person become a hero for the torture, oppression and murder of an entire race?
When does a person become a war crimminal for the same?
Who's GOD is the toughest????
I wont say i am happy that he is at deaths door.I celebrate the death of no one.I will say i think his way of war can never solve anything,it just breeds terror, bombings and death.Maybe thats what he liked-i hope not for the sake of his soul.In any case, war solves nothing.
How many Israelis will be out on the street partying when Saddam is Executed? I hope none will, but we shall see.
Oh another parallel between Saddam and Sharon-they were both trained, tooled up,and funded by the UK and USA.
If Netynyahu gets back in,Sharon will be remembered as a liberal.

a political game is in effect

Sharons second stroke happened the day after Police announced they had collected evidence indicating that allegedly he received a $3 million bribe from Austrian Mobile phone moguls Martin and James Schlaff who have a stake in a West Bank casino and were using it as a front for nefarious activity - They offered the bribe after police seized certain documents - Police found the $3 million transfer while investigating a $1.5 million loan that South African businessman Cyril Kern gave Sharon... Many believe that Schlaff Bros served as a conduit for ALL the money

 http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=X&oi=news&start=0&num=1&q=http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news%3Fpid%3D10000085%26sid%3Da7Apq0Cf_thw%26refer%3Deurope

this has all happened only months after creating a new party Kadima, which saw fellow moderate Likud members jump ship to follow their leader. How worrying is this for the citizens of Isreal to see such blind loyalty & sheepish political naivity - After all Sharon is 77 years old...this of course leaves the forthcoming elections in little doubt as new Likud frontman Netanyahu hovers in pole position Netanyahu has the dubious honour of being ever present before during & after major terror attacks, to offer political advice & suggest the culprit. Will we see a face off between him & Shimon Peres?

Rumours abound that Sharon is a victim of an assassination attempt -

however 2 strokes is hardly the work of professional killers - especially as Sharon is still alive & stable...it has been known that he was in ill health for years... more likely there has been a waiting game with all the corrupt in collusion to keep the power where it should be...

my hunch is that the new party Kadima was an exercise in getting moderates out of power to allow Ultra-nationalist Netenyahu to step in...& Sharon to bow out before the shit hits the fan...

Sharon's stroke stuns Israelis but enemies smile
By Tali Caspi
Reuters
05 Jan 2006
 http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/L05317079.htm

JERUSALEM, Jan 5 (Reuters) - Stunned Israelis were glued to radio and television sets on Thursday, desperate for news of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon as he fought for his life after undergoing surgery for a massive cerebral haemorrhage. At Judaism's Western Wall, worshippers prayed for the 77-year-old former general.

But news the bulky leader was in critical condition was greeted with celebrations among Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and ultranationalist Israelis, groups with nothing in common but their loathing for the man nicknamed "The Bulldozer".

On buses and in shops, radio stations played melancholy music between updates on Sharon's condition and interviews with medical experts, most of whom suggested that Sharon could be severely incapacitated even if he pulled through.

"It's a shame that he has gone," said salesman David Dayan as he rushed to work in Jerusalem. "It's fate".

Doctors said they stemmed the bleeding in Sharon's brain in a seven-hour operation and that he was critical but stable. They did not say how much brain damage he may have suffered.

Israeli television stations carried little but updates from Jerusalem's Hadassah Hospital and analysis of the potential fallout from Sharon's condition.

"The Israeli public is suffering from confusion and stress, anxiety and a feeling of unreality. Prime Minister Ariel Sharon will not return to the political arena," wrote Maya Bangal on the Maariv newspapers NRG website.

ULTRANATIONALISTS, PALESTINIANS CELEBRATE

Elsewhere, Sharon's foes celebrated.

Ultranationalists who fought bitterly against Israel's withdrawal from Gaza last year raised glasses of wine in a toast when they heard that Sharon was in critical condition.

"The angels listened to our prayers," Michael Ben-Horin, a member of the anti-Arab Kach group.

Politicians said they would halt campaigning for a March 28 general election that Sharon's newly formed Kadima party had been expected to win by a landslide. His illness put Kadima's future in doubt.

Some Israelis going about their business in Jerusalem said the country would bounce back.

"The Jewish nation has been around for 4,000 years, and has seen many governments and leaders rise and fall," said Igal Malka, a Jerusalem businessman. "This is just another change. There is no person without a replacement, and a replacement will be found, for better or worse," he added.

News of Sharon's illness was greeted with celebrations in the Gaza Strip, where Palestinian children held up signs saying "Sharon go to hell" and gave out sweets to mark the occasion.

Sharon drew Arab enmity for masterminding the 1982 invasion of Lebanon, during which Christian militia allies massacred Palestinians in two refugee camps, and later for his crushing response to a Palestinian uprising that erupted after he visited a sensitive Jerusalem shrine in 2000.

"The downfall of the Dracula of the century is a day of happiness for every Palestinian and every Muslim," said Abu Abir, a spokesman for the Popular Resistance Committees, a militant group.

"I condemn and label as tyrants:

Well Jackslucid, I do not believe you can show a shred of evidence to show israel supported Mugabe, Mobutu, Imin (are you barmy?) or Alawi ... but hey, you know best.

I have not suggested that you are an anti semite, a charge which I reserve for several posters such as Twilight and the extreme lefties.

It is sad that the idiots who post on this site cannot see that with the Kadima party behind a full disengagement, there was a real chance of peace and now that has been set back.

Sharon's terrible incapacitating illness will set back disengagement and the creation of a Paelstinian State; sadly morons such as 'Eat Greens' above, are too busy gloating about Sharon suffering; perhaps if they cared more about the Palestinians they claim to champion...

Sharon Akbar!!!!

"
When does a person become a hero for the torture, oppression and murder of an entire race?"

It's embarrasing to read some things written by "leftists"
I assume you're calling the "palestinians" a "race".
Actually, they're generic Arabs. The majority arrived in the region looking for work INSIDE ISRAEL.
The "palestinian race" has been attacking Israel for 60 years.
The real question:

When does a fabricated murderous people, prone to targeting women and children, hijacking airplanes, blowing up restaurants, school buses and discoteques become a race?

History Lesson

Death Cult Celebrates Death (What else could we expect?)

05.01.2006 17:50

"CELEBRATIONS BEGIN AFTER DRACULA'S BRAIN EXPLODES"

Muslim Death Cult, true to form.
When Arafat was ill and dying, neither Christians nor Jews celebrated his illness. Israeli children didn't hand out candy.
What suprises me is that they haven't started saying "The Zionists Poisoned Sharon" or "the Jews did it"
Sharon has been the one leader with the courage to move forward in the Middle East.
Arab celebrations will be short lived when they realize that Netayahu will be back in charge, and he's not as accomodating a Sharon is.

Arthru Kennedy

Please,history lesson.

05.01.2006 20:23

1: i'm not a leftist,by any stretch,so don't let me make you embarrassed.

2:Yes,i do call the Palestinians a race.

3:So what is wrong with those who search for work in a forign land?

4:Why have the Palestinians been attacking Israel, since it began in its current form?

5:and in answer to your last question : "When does a fabricated murderous people, prone to targeting women and children, hijacking airplanes, blowing up restaurants, school buses and discoteques become a race?"

A:What does Fabricated murderous mean? (look up the attack on the USS liberty for the answer)

B:Targeting women and children? Are you talking about the IDF here or what?

C:People who blow up aeroplanes and schools, maybe, just maybe ,do that because they are massivley overpowered by a power greater than they, who continue to do points A: and B: OVEr and OVER....

Guess what your own government would ask of you if their power was stolen by another, more powerful power.....YOU gottit, they would ask you to begin a guerilla war...SURPRISE!!

KNOCK KNOCK wakey wAkey?!!!

Final word,to history lesson!! I have as much love for you as the rest of humanity, you are my brother or sister, whatever your creed or colour.I hope you are more intelligent than to fall for the blatent propaganda of your own personal government....Love ,from Silicone SYnapse. No hard feelings.

Jerusalem Post Says: "Kill Arafat"
Israel National News
Arutz Sheva Israel
13 Shevat 5798
 http://www.israelnationalnews.com/news.php3?id=49615

The Jerusalem Post took a strong editorial stand today, calling on Israel to kill Yasser Arafat:
"The world will not help us; we must help ourselves. We must kill as many of the Hamas and Islamic Jihad leaders as possible, as quickly as possible, while minimizing collateral damage, but not letting that damage stop us. And we must kill Yasser Arafat, because the world leaves us no alternative."

The Post writes that Arafat prevented Abbas from combating terrorism, and "the new prime minister, Ahmed Qurei, clearly will fare no better, since he, if anything, has been trying to garner more power for Arafat, not less." The paper then explains why expelling Arafat would not work: "he will be as much or more of a problem when free to travel the world than he is locked up in Ramallah," especially in light of the fact that the U.S., Germany and France will not boycott him. "When the breaking point arrives," the paper concludes, "there is no point in taking half-measures. If we are going to be condemned in any case, we might as well do it right. Arafat's death at Israel's hands would not radicalize Arab opposition to Israel; just the opposite... Arafat does not just stand for terror, he stands for the refusal to make peace with Israel under any circumstances and within any borders. In this respect, there is no distinction, beyon d the tactical, between him and Hamas."

at least I know how to spell "Arthur"

Jews were FORCED out of Europe after World War II.

09.01.2006 10:32

Quote: "Zionists are death cultists as well as racists and nazis."

That statement completely fails to understand the situation facing European Jews in the years following World War II. Jewish refugees in Europe had no where else to go but Palestine. Every time they tried to settle in a part of Europe they were told to move on. Also around 700,000 Jews were forced out of arab countries in the Middle East where were they supposed to go?

Zionism was revived during and after World War II as a basic survival mechanism for the Jewish people and as the dream of them having a country to live in where they were not third class citizens. Zionism in short was reaction to centuries of discrimination and persecution that the Jewish people suffered. Blame the persecutors not their victims!
