What would you change in the Police?

The BBC wants the views of the public on aspects of policing.
Go on, have your say!

BBC just as bad.

26.07.2010 08:50

When it comes to a dodgy state and its horrible little cover-ups the BBC are just as bad as the police.

Its uncritical journalism of the worst kind.

Anything you post here which goes against the official BBC line gets deleted. The BBC are too concerned with keeping the police sweet or the regional crime stories dry up. This is always going to be nothing more than a 'BBC helps the police out excercise" by touting the police official line, which is:

More police officers on the streets, more money, more technology, more allowances, more erosion of record-keeping, more legal protection from litigation, more resources etc etc.

Its just a distraction from the real issue.

The police have no meaningful confidence in the law when its applied to them. They have conspired to obstruct the law and have comprehensively perverted the course of justice.

The police are illegal.

Their right to investigate themselves must be completely withdrawn, immediately.

"More police officers on the streets"
The home office has demanded a 25% drop in numbers in some areas of london

"more money"
The finances of the cops has been frozen and budgetary constraints put on front line services.

"more technology"
sorry, gonna cost so a freeze on purchaseing, unless cash is found somewhere.

"more allowances"
in the last 10 years the allowances for fornt line officers has been cut severely to a style that would be recognised by lat victorians.

"more erosion of record-keeping"
oh FFS the record keeping is now higher than normal, despite almost 7 years of trying to change it, most now demanded by the CPS and statistical bodies.

"more legal protection from litigation"
The personal liability protection is something that each cop must take out themselves, it is finite and with a weak CPS, a lazy DPP,a laughably agressive IPCC and an internal investigations dept that declares guilt until proven innocent can this be really true?

"more resources etc etc"
must be right, cos the press said so!

All of the above is available via a quick look at the records, ask a few cops about this, most (not senior officers) will state that it is true.

Maybe before shooting your mouth off and bandwagoning, try a little research, a lie is halfway around the world before the truth has got its boots on.......

anon by right

Shooting my mouth off!

"The home office has demanded a 25% drop in numbers in some areas of london "

As a response to the endless demands of police management that they want extra officers on the streets, because the public demand it, which they don't.

"The finances of the cops has been frozen and budgetary constraints put on front line services."

After a period of very heavy investment in those very same front line services which has seen large increases in resources made available through extra departments, agencies and services responsible for serious erosions of public freedom, liberty, movement...and safety.

"in the last 10 years the allowances for fornt line officers has been cut severely to a style that would be recognised by lat victorians."

Sorry, but that really is nonsense!

""more resources etc etc"
must be right, cos the press said so! "

The press have simply reported the line that has been fed to them by the police public relations wing. What the public understand, is what the police ultimately want them to understand. That's the nature of the game.

"Maybe before shooting your mouth off and bandwagoning, try a little research, a lie is halfway around the world before the truth has got its boots on....... "

Thanks for the offer, but I'll stick to what I know by raw experience if you don't mind!

A lie is halfway around the world before the truth has got its boots on eh? So, so true, but that's not to say the lie has what it takes to win the race in the end!

Ian Tomlinson was an innocent man. Either he gets justice...or the police do.
