Today acting on meticulously gathered intelligenge the Police detained and thwarted a well known violent group of extremists. They were stopped and searched under the public order act so that Daily Mail readers everywhere could sleep more peacefully in their beds knowing that they were safer from the evil forces of anarchy. Bah!

Carnival of Full Enjoyment penned in at Canning Street by police

Video Police Chain
Between 1245hrs and 1600hrs, some 100 to 200 demonstrators were penned in at Cannign Street, near the West end of Princes Street. There was little violence. The protestors were being as peaceful as the police were. For more than 3 hours, the demonstrators made the street as comfortable as they could, despite the intimidation from police lines.

Protestors Trapped In Edinburg Park

The Police forced a large part of the Carnival Protest into an Endinburgh Park. They kept about 400 protestors, plus many shoopers tourists and townspeople caught up in the carnival imprisoned - locked in the park for over 45 minutes.
