Japan refuses entry to Antonio (Toni) Negri

The Japanese Ministry of Justice has refused entry to the Italian political philosopher Antonio (Toni) Negri (74) for flimsy reasons. Negri planned at invitation of the International House of Japan from today a lecture tour to the working politics (among other things at the respectable universities of Kyoto and Tokyo). After the Japanese Foreign Ministry had no doubts against Negri's entry, at short notice, nevertheless, the Ministry of Justice responsible for border and immigration regulations of the country expressed doubt. Two days before his departure one demanded of Negri a recorded proof of
his past detention as a "political prisoner".

Chinese embassies under international attack

Media release on 'Irresponsible Tourism Convention' Kerala

Civil society organizations and representatives of
people's movements from various parts of Kerala, India organized a
protest march against Kerala's irresponsible tourism practices and
held a parallel people's Convention at Achuthamenon Hall, Eranakulam
on 'Irresponsible Tourism' under the banner of Kerala Tourism Watch.
They made their strong protest against the irresponsible practices of
Kerala Tourism. The groups made their reservations against the non
participatory nature of the present Responsible Tourism initiative of
Kerala Tourism. This convention was a response to the International
Conference on Responsible Tourism held on 21st - 24th at Le Meridien
in Kochi organized by Kerala Tourism and International Centre for
Responsible Tourism- India.

Mother`s Day Street Theatre in Birmingham

On Saturday 1st March, the day before Mother`s Day, 12 members/supporters of Midlands Vegan Campaigns staged some hilarious, jaw-dropping street theatre and leafletting in Birmingham City Centre. We grabbed the attention of thousands of people, before revealing the shocking cruelty that mother animals in the farming industry are subjected to. The event formed part of the Viva! Day of Action.

M3 Motorway destroys Rath Lugh Ancient Monument

The battle to save Rath Lugh continues against all odds, the past week as seen SIAC construction company erect huge metal spiked fencing along the route, whilst they continue to bulldose the esker of the Ancient Monument within the so called "protection zone".
