Anthony Brenton, the British Ambassador in Moskow, took a part in the extremist conference "The other Russia". During his speech he noted that "forum "The other Russia" was promoting the development of democratic society in Russia", he pleased the facists audience anouncing that the UK government was supporting them by giving 1 million pounds per year in order "to help Russia be richer, stronger and more independent".

Anti-Wall Activists Beaten and Shot with Rubber Bullets in Bil'in Protest

Around 200 hundred people, including international and Israeli activists, joined together in Bil'in village, near the city of Ramallah in the West Bank, for the weekly demonstration against the illegal annexation of the village's land. Nearly 60% of Bil'in has been lost as the route of the wall cuts directly through the area.

It's starting to look like someone has cracked the system used to protect commercial movies distributed on the HD-DVD and Blu-ray Disc high-definition-disc formats!

A thread on the Doom9 forums details the astonishingly speedy development process of the beta version of the cracking tool for the AACS (Advanced Access Content System).

The thread even includes links that let you download the Java-based command-line tool for Windows in a miniscule (18KByte) Zip file.

Radio 4 is running a Christmas Repeal listener vote, and the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act (SOCPA) is one of the candidates. Steve Pound, Labour MP, was on the Today programme this morning talking a load of bull about SOCPA, but he was forced to admit that Maya Evans and Milan Rai should not have been convicted under the Act. This jolted me out of my apathy to go and vote and to send a comment to Today (below).
