It is not long ago since the general massacre of Akbar Mohammadi, Valiollah Feyz e Mahdavi and Zahra Kazemi and lots of other political Activists, students, writers and journalists in prisons by the dictatorial regime in Iran. It is getting worse and worse.
Today Ahmad Batebi is one of the thousands of political prisoners that are not far from death because of non stop torture in prison.

Over here in the big smog of Hackney, east London, we're fighting a battle to stop the LDA, who are responsible for bringing the olympic games to London in 2012, evicting and destroying a massive 80 plot, hundred year old allotment site. All just to make way for a footpath!

After a long political and legal battle the basis-democratic, alternative political and cultural centre 'Ungdomshuset' was forcefully evicted by riot police and airborne anti-terror squads this morning. The police is in Ungdomshuset. Around the neighbourhood and in the rest of the city there are actions, happenings, events and fighting. There is a demonstration starting at 17.00 which has just been surrounded by police. Calls for international support!

Iraq’s Cabinet has just approved a Hydrocarbon Law which will allow foreign companies control over Iraq’s oil for the first time in 35 years.

Foreign oil companies and the British and US governments have been reviewing and commenting on the law for the past 8 months. Iraqi Parliamentarians are seeing it for the first time this month.

At the EU summit on 8 and 9 March 27 heads of government will decide about the forced use of palm oil and other plantation products from the tropics for producing energy in Europe. Oil palm and soya bean growing are turning into a catastrophe for the rain forest. The German group “Rettet den Regenwald” have compiled information on that about Indonesia, Malaysia and Colombia. this eviction has been pending since december 2006 and will be massively resisted.
