Dawn at Vestas Blade Blockade

The Blade Blockade at the (once Occupied) Vestas Wind Turbine Blade Factory at the St Cross Business Park, Dodnor Lane, Newport, Isle of Wight was served a letter before claim type notice of eviction from WIGGUN solicitors the other day. We took some nice photos of the dawn the day after to encourage people to visit (on yer way to Calais, natch). Climbers, cooks and nocturnal creatures particularly warmly welcomed. The fires are still burning!

solidarity protest at French consulate - Besson, don't evict the jungle

Manchester No Borders held an emergency protest at the French
consulate today, after French riot police have begun mass evictions
and arrests of refugees hoping to join the UK via the French port town of
Calais.

On Wednesday, French immigration minister, Eric Besson, announced that the
Calais area will be a ‘migrant-free zone’ by the end of next week. Large
areas of woodland, known locally as the ‘jungle’, where young men, many
still children, have set up temporary shelters are to be cleared and
bulldozed.

AHAVA Occupied for a Second Time in support of Palestine

At 11am today two people entered the Ahava store in Monmoth Street, Covent Garden and closed the shop by locking themselves inside. Under the banner of 'Stolen Beauty from Stolen Land', they set out to highlight the sale of beauty products manufactured on illegal Israeli Settlements on Occupied Palestinian land.

Cuban 5 - Eleven Years in Jail last Saturday

Last Saturday, 12 September, 11 years in jail for the Cuban 5, political prisoners in the US, was marked by events around the world urging their release. In London, Rock around the Blockade held a rally outside Angel Tube station in Islington across lunchtime, speaking and handing out leaflets in the busy street. SEEDA offices targetted in Vestas solidairy action

This morning the Chatham offices of the South East England Development Agency were tragetted by protesters as part of the national days of action for Vestas workers. Banners were dropped from the top floor balcony and a mini windfarm was erected in the lobby. No arrests were made.

Last Tuesday's Protests Against DSEi Arms Fair

Destroy the arms trade
s the DSEi arms fair opened at the ExCeL centre, several demonstrations against it took place in London. A couple of hundred people, many masked, took part in an autonomous action in the City of London, while CAAT organised demonstrations including one outside the UK Trade and Investment office in Victoria St. Dan Viesnik was also there as a part of his 100-hour famine at various key locations highlighting the suffering of victims of the arms trade.
