About 60 walkers gathered to do the sponsored Walk in the Walks, following the circuit of about a mile around the edge of the Walks, starting from the Broad Walk entrance near the library. The distance walked was left up to the walkers, but there were two prizes for raising the most sponsorship and two lucky draw prizes. There was a more wheel-friendly shorter circuit and a refreshment stand with tables open at Guannock Gate of the old town wall. One volunteer had dressed up in a bear suit.

The event took place at the end of national Brain Injury Awareness Week and there were displays encouraging people to wear cycle helmets and use proper head protection at work, which are two simple steps that can reduce the risk. Money raised by the walk goes to Headway King's Lynn and District, the brain injury association's local group.

Organisers would like to thank the dozen or so marshalls, including the Council-coordinated volunteers, and the local firms which sponsored the prizes and supported the event.
