Following the success of the first Northern March Against Racism in January and the Conference in June, Tyneside Community Action for Refugees (TCAR) has decided to call a second Northern March Against Racism on 25th October - and we’d like your support. The aim of the march is to continue building links between different anti-racist struggles and to demonstrate our support for these struggles.

In an outrageous act of media manipulation, Greater Manchester Police announced a couple of weeks ago that "A major operation to police the 2008 Labour Party Annual Conference has resulted in the arrest of three more people on suspicion of immigration offences."

The so-called ‘British Peoples Party’ are already running scared of opposition to their plans to hold an anti Hip Hop demo in Leeds. The BPP advertised their demo outside HMV on Lands Lane in Leeds city centre for 2.30pm on Saturday October 4th. But after a counter-demo was announced on Indymedia (see

They even had the cheek to suggest it was the antifascists who couldn’t get the date right! The BPP have changed the date in order to arrange police protection for themselves and because the 18th is the date of their Leeds‘congress’. Clearly the BPP think they’ll need extra numbers in addition to the protection of the cops. All antifascists should mobilise for this event.
