A Pacific Blockade in Lausanne

On the morning of Sunday June 1st, we will create a non-violent blockade of the G8 delegates in Lausanne. We want to send a clear message to the entire world: we will not remain silent as the masters of war and injustice, the rapists of the world an its peoples' resources, plan their next assault on humanity. Their relaxed talk-shop will suddenly become heavy an uncomfortable under the weight of our accusation. And our refusal of their ways will nurture our dreams, alive in our multicolored creation of freedom, justice and peace. It is alive – we dream awake. We will oppose war with peace, slavery with freedom, hate with love. Another world is not only possible – it already exists in our own actions today.

We want to establish a very clear platform in which to collectively define this pacific AQUA BLOC and from which to coordinate with other blocs in Lausanne. We are therefore organizing on the basis of the following principles of unity, which we ask everyone joining the AQUA BLOC to respect:

1) We will organize in open meetings, on a non-hierarchical and direct-democratic basis, in a spirit of peace and equality.

2) Complete non-violence. We will not, under any circumstances, engage in property destruction, in proactive responses to repression, or in any other action that might be considered violent. People who want to reserve the option of proactive tactics can join other initiative that have place for this.

3) We commit to working in coordination and full solidarity with all those who oppose the G8 in the name of humanity. We will not play the game of isolation, criminalization and self-distancing, in which there are only losers. There must be one movement, or there will be no movement.
