EV-EON: Nice Bit Of Subvertising (Shame About The Solutions)

Here’s something nice from a group that brainstormed an idea at the 2008 Climate Camp; EV-EON [ http://www.ev-eon.com]. EON want to build the first of a whole raft of coal-fired power stations in the UK, so these guys decided - and I’m guessing there are a few graphic designers and web bods involved - to make a spoof, which works well.

US,Russian or Chinese military EMF kills dolphins

Many smaller fish etc just die & float to the bottom, we are probably only seeing just the surface of this "hitech" assault on nature.

Victory! MoD Goat Experiments Stopped

Today the MoD put out the following statement. We are delighted that these tests have stopped, although we maintain that it is a decision that is 100 years overdue. This also highlights a far wider issue, of repeat tests which are being conducted across the country without review, and which would be halted were they exposed to the public.

British Airways And The 5 Tonne Businessmen

I don’t make a habit of swearing, but this morning has been testing, to say the least. Formerly known as the “World’s Favourite Airline” until the world decided that it wasn’t too fond of airlines pushing out carbon dioxide into its upper atmosphere, British Airways have decided, in its eternal wisdom, to kit out a couple of Airbus A318s for its most luxury conscious business travellers.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it...

ID cards, injunctions, CCTV with voice activated alerts, national license plate monitoring, face recognition, directional microphones, network profiling, DNA databases, keylogging, phone taping, bugging and tracking, these are just some of the tools of repression being used against those battling to save the world from total domination and destruction.

This message will self destruct in 10 seconds.... 9.. 8.. 6.. 5.. 4.. 3.. 2..

Close Counter Terror World!

In a few days time, Olympia plays host the Counter Terror World, an exhibition at which companies and countries from around the world will share with each other lessons learned in the war on terror, a war on their own populations. London Class War have called a picket of Olympia at 1pm on Tuesday 5 December, the first day of the sordid exhibition. Further details are available on the website, www.classwar.org

Linux Conference in Brighton

Although it may seem like a very nerdy get together, open source and free software is seen by many as anarchism in practice. The software the runs indymedia is all open source. With the advent of more userfriendly distributions of GNU/Linux like Ubuntu many non-geeks are starting to make the move away from the monopoly of Microsoft. This conference in Brighton will serve as an introduction to those that are considering a move to free software, those that want to learn more about it, as well as for experts who want to learn more about particular developments and pieces of software.
