Meat Sheik, Anglican paedophilia, and non-regulation Jewish foreskin

30-10-2006 03:33 | Analysis | Culture | Social Struggles | World

This past week in Australia has been ‘fundamentally’ outstanding; dimwitted fundamentalist religionists vied with each other for top billing in the local media. Never has the nation seen such retarded behaviour from so many diverse religious groups. The prize for fundamentalist imbecile of the week however goes to the Muslim cleric Sheik al-Hilali for his retrogressive reference to women as “uncovered meat”. He unashamedly placed the responsibility for rape and other sexually violent acts onto women; men were exonerated on the basis that “uncovered meat” is sexually provocative! The local media now refers to the cleric as the “Meat Sheik” and continues to sensationalise aspects of the story.

Members of the Wheelock family (Martin & kevin, imc éire)
22 deaths in Garda custody since 1997 are reported in the Republic of Ireland. 4 people died alone in Store Street Station since 2001, a Dublin inner city Police Station with specially designed 'suicide proof' cells.

Terence Wheelock was one of the latter. His death and how the Gardaí treated the incident and also the bereaved family thereafter triggered an ongoing and expanding family campaign.

In the UK, official figures amount to 493 deaths in police custody since 1996. In all of these cases, no officer EVER had to face a court. Today, families and friends of the victims march in London.

Latest campaign to demonise Islam and intimidate the Muslim Community

27-10-2006 09:43 | Analysis | Repression | Social Struggles | World

Demonising Islam
“The public furore ignited in response to the reported comments made by Sheik Taj Al-Din Al-Hilali has little to do with the question of crime or culpability. What is clear is that a consistently negative view of Islam and Muslims is being generated in this country with the aim of demonising Islam and silencing the Muslim community.”

I wonder if the creators of 'The-Borg', within StarTrek; The Next Generation based their ideas on 'The-Borg' (The-Collective), from the ideas of Ritzer and 'McDonalisation', or was it reallly that 'the-truth' is that these ideas came from the 'Ivory-Towers' within East Riding of Yorkshire Council..."Resistance is Futile"..... that's how I feel living 'with' this Oppressive lot here....

December 7: Day of Solidarity with Green Scare Indictees & Political Prisoners

25-10-2006 21:05 | Ecology | Repression | Social Struggles | World

The term Green Scare refers to the Red Scares of the early twentieth century, made famous by the McCarthy hearings and the House Un-American Activities Committee. The Green Scare demonstrates a similar systematic criminalization of dissent as the U.S. government is using all its tactics (e.g., grand juries, specialized legislation, paid agents provacateurs) to target the radical environmental and animal rights movements, those who publicly support them, and others who struggle for a healthy, diverse eco-system and the rights of animals.
