From bad to worse is the new sub-text slogan for Bush and his administration. Appearing on US media, flanked by Cheney, Rumsfeld and numerous other (wooden) neo-cons, Bush repeated his rehearsed lines – “we are problem solvers”. This statement met with numerous reporters clearing their throats; the problem is Bush and his inept administration. The emperor is not only without clothes but is also devoid of ability. The corporate driven Bush government is learning that managing a nation has little in common with running an oil company. [Those best suited for government are dedicated to the selfless service of others – a concept totally alien to conservative ideology.]

(USA) What kind of organization does the antiwar movement need?

An organization capable of overthrowing the system of imperialist rule cannot be built on a foundation of sand. Only principled, transparent and long-term collaboration between serious activists can:

(1) organize a decisive break from the
confinement of liberal-imperialist politics,
(2) mobilize the masses in their millions and
(3) chart the couse forward to a world without
imperialist war or capitalist exploitation

Bush rejects Chávez aid

An offer of aid from the Venezuelan president, Hugo Chávez, which included two mobile hospital units, 120 rescue and first aid experts, 50 tonnes of food, 10 water purification plants, 18 power generation plants and 20 tonnes of bottled water has been rejected by the US-government, according to the civil rights leader, Jesse Jackson.

Police "lies" over man shot by cops

THE MOTHER of a man gunned down by armed police has hit out at lies put out about her son. Tearful Susan Alexander accused the Metropolitan Police of spreading false information in the wake of the fatal shooting in Edgware, north London.

Mr Rodney, who had just celebrated his 24th birthday, was shot seven times in a pre-planned police operation in April 2005.

This is the crux of the issue. As long as indigenous people are treated as second-class citizens, petrol sniffing and other substance misuse will continue unabated.
