Smash EDO roof occupation trial update (Brighton)

Smash EDO is a local campaign (Brighton) against EDO MBM Technology Ltd, on Home Farm Road, who manufacture release mechanisms for Paveway bombs supplied to Raytheon and used in Iraq, amongst other things. In May last year, 5 activists got
on the roof and hung banners. They are charged with aggravated trespass. It's been an interesting day in court - circular logic from the judge and a distinct lack of evidence from the prosecution.

EDO on trial in Brighton Magistrates 11 - 14th Jan 2005

please come and support 5 activists on trial for aggravated trespass 11-14th Jan at EDO Tech - Brighton's very own arms manufacturer. Demonstrations are planned at the court in the afternoon on Tuesday 11th and at the factory at 4pm on Thursday 14th to celebrate the end of the trial. Six Activists from London and Brighton were on trial this week for obstructing the access road into EDO/MBM Technology, a factory producing bomb-release mechanisms and tank diagnostic systems for the US/UK and Lockheed Martin. Protesters planned to use the case as a platform to allow victims of attacks using similar equipment in Iraq and Palestine to give evidence in court, Brighton magistrates had other ideas
