Lydd airport-Romney Marsh) planning decision March 3

Notice of the full council meeting (Shepway District) to determine whether Lydd Airport on Romney Marsh should be given the go ahead to expand.
The last survey showed public 3 to 1 against this which appears to have remained fairly solid. However SDC may go for the 'jobs' argument. If they pass it, despite officers objections, it will have to be pushed to a Public Inquiry. (Airport may appeal if SDC reject it-again to a PI)

Camden Bio Hazard and Animal Lab - Environment Disaster public meeting in Camden

There are plans to build a high level [3] virus containment facility in Kings Cross, Camden alongside St Pancras International behind the British Libary close to an environmentally protected area, Camley Conservation Area. There is a "last chance" public development forum where the public can ask questions & speak out against the lab. Wednesday Feb 10th 2009 6.30-8.30pm.

Note: Benefit Gig Now For Docters Without Borders We recently found out how Shelter spend their money and treat their staff so we're now donating the proceeds of the gig to Doctors Without Borders, to sopport their ugent work with the Haiti earthquke victims. Don't worry though we will still do a benefit for a homelessness charity sometime soon.

Gordon Brown vists Camden estate as "Police do nothing where women attacked".

Gordon Brown made an unannounced visit to a Camden council estate in Gospel Oak. A gran told Gordon how she defended herself and her granddaughter with a baseball bat when 60 male youths chased her, tried to set her on fire, sabotaged her garden and threatened her granddaughter. Gordon visited as people have complained about failed ASBOS and the CNJ reported a lack of faith in police.
