Did OFSTED's Christine Gilbert order suppression of evidence against Crossrail?

AADHIKARonline in association with KHOODEELAAR! No to Crossrail scam | 14.11.2008 16:00 | Analysis | World

KHOODEELAAR! is raising the question on Christine Gilbert's role today as part of our constitutional law campaign action updates. Gilbert failed and refused and neglected to answer the many questions that the campaign against Crossrail hole had put top her between 2004 and 2006 when she was chief executive in Tower Hamlets Council.

The questions that need to be answered about Christine Gilbert's suitability include these:-

Has she recognised the flaws in her role of associating too closely with careerists and 'councillors bolding key and power-weilding positions on the local Council'?

Has she recognised the truth of what the ordinary people had been telling her about the leis that she was backing about failing schools letting down the entire community?

Has she got the morality and the ethics and the intellectual detachment to tell the truth and to expose negligence, contempt and corruption by holders of publicly paid for posts and positions?

ACTION ARCHIVE on Christine Gilbert, as published by KHOODEELAAR! on 10 June 2006 asking Blair TO DROP Gilbert as [his then ill-chosen] head of OFSTED

OFSTED - East London lesson for Cronying Tony Blair – Drop Christine
© Muhammad Haque | 10.06.2006 20:18 | Analysis | Social Struggles | London

The Khoodeelaar! campaign against the Crossrail hole Bill - Blair’s de facto salvaging of the career of Christine Gilbert via the Ofsted appointment is only significant as a peripheral indicator of how immoral his decision making is, contrary to the routine professions that he is at all a morally active ethically laudable decision maker… the central lesson is that his judgement is seriously flawed and that he is as anti-democratic and unconstitutional on this one as he has been on all key issues of the day in his 'premiership'.. Blair’s recent acknowledgement that the crossrail bill [now in the uk house of commons] had to be ‘handled sensibly’ showed the latest public confirmation that our campaign against Crossrail bill was affecting him and his unaccountable entourage.

Khoodeelaar! has been leading the campaign for both democratic accountability as well as for moral and ethical accountability from the elected holders of office in the inner city east end of london. This week's announcement that the chief officer in tower hamlets council was leaving was accompanied by another announcement of breathtaking immorality from Tony Blair’s establishment. Blair’s de facto salvaging of the career of Christine Gilbert via the Ofsted appointment is only significant as a peripheral indicator of how immoral his decision making is, contrary to the routine professions that he is at all a morally active ethically laudable decision maker… the central lesson is that his judgement is seriously flawed and that he is as anti-democratic and unconstitutional on this one as he has been on all key issues of the day in his 'premiership'.. Blair’s recent acknowledgement that the crossrail bill [now in the uk house of commons] had to be ‘handled sensibly’ showed the latest public confirmation that our campaign against Crossrail bill was affecting him and his unaccountable entourage. Weeks earlier, he had conceded that the crossrail bill was proving an unexpected liability when he was forced to shunt the crossrail bill minister Alistair darling off to the dti . He brought in a most unsuitable replacement in the form of Douglas Alexander, who has no manifest democratic credentials to warrant any different treatment from the campaign against crossrail hole bill than had applied to his predecessor in post.blair has now shown a third admission that the crossrail bill is in trouble.

He has got london mayor ken Livingstone to mount a counter to the khoodeelaar! Campaign against Crossrail hole bill Livingstone has teamed up with his apparent adversary, the monopoly london evening ‘newspaper’ the evening standard. But neither the EVENING STANDARD editorial [2nd in a month] aimed at Gordon Brown nor the full page puff for Crossrail-hole-Ken makes any economic sense. The Crossrail hole Bill plugs are full of ‘planned economic growth’ and ‘planned benefits’ but they are way out of sync with the actual economic analysis. The UK economy is NOT growing. The world economic trends also discourage any hocus pocus exaggeration that Ken Livingstone is prone to making There is no justification for the Crossrail hole line because the EXISTING railway infrastructure can be maintained and improved and added to with less cost to the public purse and within a shorter time than would be the case if a CrossRail line were to be constructed.

That is the general objection.

The local East End economy has no need for it.

No demand for it.

And the Crossrail hole station at Whitechapel will NOT serve the local east End economic. It will be a link to take over the Eats End . By people who will target the area for economic takeover.

Those facts are being confirmed again by some of the disclosures being heard before the formally sitting Crossrail Bill select committee. The more facts get confirmed, the more substance is lent to the Khoodeelaar! campaign for the scrapping of the Crossrail hole Bill.

Another, the ex, Chief Inspector of OFSTED, has lots to answer for

14.11.2008 16:20

Chris Woodhead is playing a relatively less central role this week as a backer of an under cover ex teacher who is involved in a legal battle.
But the role that Woodhead played in allowing Haringey Council to get away with less than rigorous examination has not been forgotten.
And it was another Lammy, too!
Anyone else recall the role?

Ofsted knew of Baby P tragedy..... Yet ED BALLS is uttering procedures!

Ed Balls has been uttering procedures this afternoon!
This is very worrying. Especially as there is no evidence that Balls has any credible intention of changing the very corrupt culture of careerism that is at the root of the Baby P tragedy. And of hundreds of others [not reported in the same way, IF reported at all] that are happening across England and Wales...

What evidence?

The biggest allegation is tacked on as an after-thought - the claim that Ofsted knew about Baby P.

How would Ofsted have come into any contact with Baby P given that he died when he was 18 months old?

Ah - I see

17.11.2008 10:32

The comment above, I'd read, as suggesting Ofsted had known about Baby P when he was alive. (Which isn't true - though the Commission for Social Care Inspection had been warned about a separate case).

Ofsted found out about Baby P after he died, but then made no mention of him in a report because the local review of the case was ongoing. However, Ofsted has still ended up looking stupid because it gave Haringey a three star review.

OFSTED's Christine Gilbert is wrong, again! As is the Guardian to plug her

06.12.2008 13:51

1348 Hrs GMT London Saturday 6 December 2008

How is Gilbert wrong?

Answer: Because she is due to be telling MPs next week what she has been up to! And she should have waited until after that appearance before making any comments on the matter..

The Guardian is wrong too because it has now aided Gilbert in pre-empting a constitutional exercise by an MPs’ committee... Not that that committee will itself be any more 'rigorous' than it has been in the past...The timing of the Guardian's service to Christine Gilbert and her career is typical of that outlet.. It behaved in the same way to salvage Ken Livingstone’s career...especially at moments which warranted the
maximum possible application of moral restraint against the temptation to peddle a post-holder who was almost under ‘nationwide’ scrutiny for their wanton failures …

The contents of the Guardian plug for Christine Gilbert confirm the agenda at work behind the Guardian’s decision to run the piece and also to do so as the most prominent item featured on the newspaper’s front page today [Saturday 6 December 2008]
