<p>They came, they camped, they conquered (well, almost). During a soul-searching Dorset retreat, Climate Camp have decided to suspend tent-centred activism - citing the “radically different political landscape” of 2011. Having been through Drax, Kingsnorth, Heathrow, RBS, Copenhagen and one helluva lot of hummus, the group are now turning their attention to coordination with the wider anti-cuts and anti-austerity movement.</p><p><a href="/en/2011/03/475072.html#c265799">Updated after the jump</a></p><p><strong>On the Newswire: <a href="http://indymedia.org.uk/en/2011/03/474954.html">Statement</a> | <a href="/en/actions/2006/climatecamp/">2006</a> | <a href="/en/actions/2007/climatecamp/">2007</a> | <a href="/en/actions/2008/climatecamp/">2008</a> | <a href="/en/2009/08/436738">2009</a> | <a href="/en/2010/08/457296.html">2010</a></strong></p><p><strong>In SchNEWS: <a href="http://www.schnews.org.uk/archive/news736.php">736</a> | <a href="http://www.schnews.org.uk/archive/news696.php">696</a> | <a href="http://www.schnews.org.uk/archive/news6891.php">689</a> | <a href="http://www.schnews.org.uk/archive/news6422.htm">642</a> | <a href="http://www.schnews.org.uk/archive/news6411.htm">641</a> | <a href="http://www.schnews.org.uk/archive/news600.htm#1">600</a> | <a href="http://www.schnews.org.uk/archive/news558.htm#4">558</a></strong></p><p><strong>Links: <a href="”http://www.climatecamp.org.uk/2011-statement”">www.climatecamp.org.uk/2011-statement</a></strong></p>2011-03-04T00:53+02:002011-03-04T00:53:00+00:00AnalysisClimate Camp 2006Climate Camp 2007Climate Camp 2008Climate ChaosFree SpacesSheffieldSouth CoastUKWorldSchNEWS 761enTexttext/html; charset=UTF-8Climate Camp 2008

I arrived at Heathrow terminal one with alot of trepidation and caution. Not knowing what to expect, I dressed in a suit and tie to avoid attracting interest. It did not work.2009-01-13T02:46+02:002009-01-13T02:46:00+00:00Climate Camp 2008Climate ChaosManchesterPromotedUKWorldNessunoenTexttext/html; charset=UTF-8Climate Rush Heathrow images, 12.01.09

Images from the 'Climate Rush' at Heathrow airport, terminal 1. This protest happened at 7pm on Monday 12th January. <br/>The protesters, many of them students, dressed in period Edwardian costume, reminiscent of the Sufragettes. 'Climate Rush' are demanding that the UK government sticks to its promises on climate change - an issue that will affect us all - before it is too late.2009-01-13T02:24+02:002009-01-13T02:24:00+00:00Climate Camp 2008Climate ChaosEcologyPromotedSouth CoastUKWorldBilly MacraeenTexttext/html; charset=UTF-8Open invitation to the New Year National Climate Camp Gathering

The Earth First! Winter moot is an opportunity for people who feel affiliation with the ideas behind Earth First! to network, discuss and reflect on the ecological direct action movement and to plan for the future. In contrast with the yearly EF! Summer Gathering, which is held outside for around five days, the winter moot is a shorter weekend meeting, inside, less aimed at skill sharing and more at looking where we are at as movement and where we want to be going.2009-01-10T02:29+02:002009-01-10T02:29:18+00:00Bio-technologyClimate Camp 2008Climate ChaosEcologyUKreposterenTexttext/html; charset=UTF-8Direct Action; Spain, Sweden, Mexico & UK
