Cyber Security a matter for MoD

Who is in yellow tie? An excerpt of a speech delivered in Sri Lanka by Liam Fox MP, Defence Secretary
"We face today the war of the invisible enemy.

That is why the United Kingdom is mainstreaming cyber security across all parts of Government at home, and why cyber security is regularly high on the agenda in discussions we have with partners in this region"

6th Anniversary of 7/7

Six years on from an event with the largest single loss of life in London since the blitz can the Metropolitan Police, with it's long track record of complicity in facilitating Miscarriages of Justice be allowed to offer a 'narrative' which is so deeply flawed and suspect? How about a 'narrative' which has remained unexamined and unchallenged except by the July 7th Truth Campaign? A 'narrative' that has ascribed guilt to four men without their families having the opportunity and legal representation to question, particularly when the four accused have been denied their own Inquest proceedings? Or a 'narrative' deemed outside the scope of inquiry by the 7/7 Inquests, and a 'narrative' which has led to the demonisation of the Muslim population? This is the same flawed and unproven narrative that has been the basis for the questioning of multi-culturalism and a 'narrative' which has done much to fuel the race-hate and bigotry of the far-right neo-fascist organisation, the EDL.

Obama's UK-fest : Vision of a war without end

London Evening Standard, 26 May 2011 It was quite a week for America's Nobel Peace Laureate President. After a speech to AIPAC, there was the major, pre-UK arrival "interview" with the BBC's political commentator, Andrew Marr. Less an interview, in fact than a breathlessly adoring audience.

As the U.S., and British body bags returned from Afghanistan continue to mount, the BBC's audience learned that troop levels had been: "plussed up" and that: "the Taliban is now back on its heels." The occasional minor glitch of entire prisons inmates escaping, U.S., bases under attack, supply convoys routinely incinerated in industrial numbers (he didn't put it quite like that) had been because the U.S., had been: "distracted by the war in Iraq."

Royal Wedding and Royal Censorship

The Guardian, 29 April 2011 An estimated 2 billion people watched the lavish wedding of Kate and William in London that cost the British economy $10 billion from a national day off work. We all wish the best for the happy couple. However the TV coverage permitted by the Royal Family involved massive censorship of the Australian ABC and indeed all other media. The Royal Family and the British Establishment survive through censorship, lies (of commission and omission) and slice (spin-based untruths) and this latest British censorship demands exposure of Britain’s horrendous past and continuing imperialist crimes.

Anti Arms-Traders 'breach' parameter for Heckler and Koch picket

A nice photo opp!! Every second Monday of the month the Shut Down H + K campaign in Nottingham hold a peaceful picket outside the Easter Park Industrial Estate, Nottingham, to highlight and protest the presence on the business estate of the international arms manufacturers and traders, Heckler and Koch. Heckler and Koch have been in the city for over five years and an arms manufacturer of varying degrees and under various names has been in the city for many decades. Protesters have always been around to highlight these scum and protest against them, as I'm sure many of us would expect.
