Graffiti in support of green wedge in Somerset

THE fight against hundreds of new homes on a green swathe in Taunton has turned nasty. A group calling itself The Green Wedgers has claimed responsibility for graffiti around the town centre.

Other campaigners opposing up to 750 homes earmarked for the area in the Draft Core Strategy have distanced themselves from the militants. After large ‘Save Vivary Wedge’ graffiti appeared on walls in Bath Place and High Street, the County Gazette received an e-mail from The Green Wedgers.

Campaigners plan to shut down nuclear bomb factory as they call for disarmament of Trident and abolition of nuclear weapons

On Monday 15 February, from 7am, hundreds of campaigners from England, Scotland, Wales and other countries will aim to block access to every gate of the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) at Aldermaston, Berkshire, England.[1] The blockade, initiated by Trident Ploughshares (TP) and supported by the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND), the Aldermaston Women’s Peace Camp(aign) (AWPC)[2] and other groups, aims to halt construction of multi-billion pound facilities for research and development of a new generation of nuclear warheads. The Tortoise Protection Group are not an Animal Rights group...it is a con

The Tortoise Protection Group have conned a number of Animal Rights Activists into helping, raising and donating money. Their website promotes the breeding of captive tortoises as pets. There are also a number of dodgy articles about very expensive stolen tortoises. It is alarming genuine AR activists that other "AR" activists are supporting this group, believed to be criminals promoting a con.

There are plans to build a high level [3] virus containment facility in Kings Cross, Camden alongside St Pancras International behind the British Libary close to an environmentally protected area, Camley Conservation Area.
