URGENT: SARC Portsmouth Hunt Animal Abuser
Whilst travelling through the Portchester area on the outskirts of Portsmouth today (near Fareham) SARC volunteers saw something which shocked them beyond belief. A dog was walking along, tethered by it's owner, and apart from having a few bad cuts to the animals body, the volunteers were shocked to see someone had quite clearly cut the word 'dog' into the flesh around the animals back leg.[Full Story ]

NHS 'Overseas Patients' debt collector wanted at Haywards Heath
When looking for jobs on the NHS jobs website, (www.jobs.nhs.uk) I found this advert for an 'Overseas Patients Co-ordinator', ie. a debt- collector for people deemed ineligible for treatment by the NHS. By this read 'asylum seekers, undocumented migrants' etc. The job description makes a shocking read. I'm sure most of this is in contravention with the Professional bodies Codes of conduct (General Medical Council, Nursing and Midwifery Council). People might want to give Tina Niblett (Private and Overseas Patients Manager For Haywards Heath Hospital) a call on 01273 696955 extension 7030 or email-
tina.niblett@bsuh.nhs.uk or have a demonstration if they can find out when interviews are held...

Re Secretary of State for Health Alan Johnson's release on water fluoridation
The DoH refuses to acknowledge extensive evidence that the side effects of fluoridation can be so severe that, were it to be classified as a medicinal product (as EC law demands) then it would instantly be withdrawn from the market. In attempting to remedy a small number of defects in a few children's teeth, this 'remedy' will actually cause damage to all of the teeth of half of the children drinking this quack medicne.[Full Story ]

Senior doctors allege lack of evidence on fluoride safety
Sarah Boseley, health editor The Guardian Friday October 5 2007 The government is accused by senior doctors today of selectively using inadequate evidence to promote the use of fluoride in the water supply. The public health measure, intended to improve the country's teeth, has attracted huge controversy. Anti-fluoride campaigners claim the chemical has potentially harmful side-effects, while dentists and some public health experts insist it is entirely beneficial and saves children from tooth decay.
