EDL Dudley - Clashes at Right-Wing Demo - Video

Anon | 05.04.2010 12:26 | Anti-racism | Social Struggles | Birmingham

EDL chant "If you build your f*cking mosque we'll burn it down" at 3:15 in this video from Saturdays far right demo in the West Midlands town of Dudley.

About 3000 English Defence League (EDL) protestors marched on Dudley town centre under heavy police escort to protest against the construction of a new mosque.
Clashes broke out at the protest rally point when EDL supporters took offense to being caged in. Containment fences were torn down and hundreds of EDL protesters broke police lines, charged into the streets of Dudley and in the direction of the Unite Against Fascism counter protest.

What really caused the breakout and the violence..& the EDL leaders not racist

We were pelted with missiles after the police let people from the UAF get close to the EDL demo and throw things. The cages were pulled down and people got out of there to defend themselves and all of us. You didn't film that bit.
As for the racist comments they do not reflect the opinions of the EDL leadership who are Black, Asian and White. The Allah songs are sung by troublemakers and the EDL leadership have asked people over and over again not to sing those songs.
20,000 people in Dudley signed against that mosque. Supermosques cause trouble and the plans for an "Islamic Village" cause will create a ghetto.

Lying little troll!!!

Here's how it really happened! taken from the EDL website:

'I enjoyed the speeches but I can't understand for the life of me why one guy in particular decided to attack the fencing and lift it from the ground in a rage like he was off his head.

The speeches were taking place and to the left of the stage area as you look the stage, this one guy also attacked another guy with a camera. We were gobsmacked at both the rage he displayed towards the fence and then after the fence got vandalised by him how he went then to create an unprovoked attack on a random guy with a camera. A marshall also got attacked with a broken bottle and needed emergency treatment and then you had different groups from the EDL area running to the other side of the event and pulling the barriers down to try and get out. the speeches had not finished and to us we thought they were only after trouble. The speakers on the stage did their best to tell them to come back but they did not listen. There were children in prams about 2yrs old and now only in heinsight we think they should never have been in the demonstration area because when trouble starts through no fault of anybodies apart from certain stupid idiotic individuals, how can the EDL guarentee peoples safety, I think parents need to think seriously about the troubles and think about the troubles that start out of the blue because inocent people got hurt today and it is only because we witnessed the unprovoked attack next to the stage that we have decided not to attend any more protests.'

And you're off trying to spin lies about how i all kicked off in self defence!!! hahaha!

Myth Busting

26.04.2010 17:27

There is no Islamic Village planned, it was all the creation of a local paper seeking headlines. You can find the facts on the proposed mosque here:  http://www.dbinterfaith.org.uk/2010/04/26/the-proposed-new-dudley-mosque/

I saw the breakouts, it really wasn't just a few people, it was hundreds, intent on reaching places where they could cause violence. Whatever the leadership of the EDL say, clearly the actions of their members say something quite different.
