From 12noon on Saturday 3rd May, Nottingham Refugee Campaign Group again organizied a MayDay march and rally at the Brewhouse Yard Gardens, near the Castle, Nottingham. With a samba band upfront, a march went to the Market Square. Once arond town and then returned to Brewhouse Yard,

Stalls, banners, placards, musical instruments, etc.

Satement: "Supported by Nottingham Trades’ Council, Nottingham’s 2008 May Day festivities have been organised by Nottingham Refugee Campaign Group. We campaign against the callous and inhuman treatment of asylum seekers by the government. Their latest plan is to withdraw free primary health care from asylum seekers. Government policy will then leave them not only destitute and homeless, but also without health care. We support asylum seekers in their demand for the right to work."

Nottingham and Notts Refugee Forum (NNRF) is an independent, voluntary organisation set up to work with and for asylum seekers and refugees in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
