Stop the Fascist BNP: National March and Parade

Richard Buckwell | 12.06.2008 14:58

The Notts Trades Council is putting on coaches to London for the Stop the Fascist BNP National March and Parade on Saturday, 21 June.

It's a march and carnival parade against fascism and racism including floats with top artists performing, marching & samba bands and trade union & student union banners. Trade unions are giving strong support to the demonstration, with the Unite union sending out leaflets to every one of its two million members encouraging them to attend.

The full details are:

Saturday 21st June 2008
Assemble: 12 noon, Tooley Street, London SE1
(behind Greater London Assembly building, near Tower Bridge, nearest underground stn London Bridge).
March to Trafalgar Square, W1

Coaches will leave at 8am from outside the Salutation Inn on Maid Marion Way (on Saturday, 21 June).
Tickets cost £16 if you are fully waged or £8 for concessions.
Call Richard on 07940 952 825 to buy a ticket and so reserve a place.

In the wake of the election of the fascist British National Party's Richard Barnbrook to the London Assembly and of more BNP councillors in other parts of the country (including two in Heanor, Derbys.) we will show once again that anti-fascists are the majority.

We will celebrate the diversity of our society and making it clear that racism and fascist organisations like the BNP will not be tolerated. There will be speakers and banners from the many organisations opposed to the BNP's racist hate.

Join this march and celebration of diversity, let's oppose the fascist BNP.

The Love Music Hate Racism (LMHR) Carnival at the end of April showed the mass multicultural audience opposed to racism and fascism, and now is the time for the Carnival to hit the streets and for delegations from scores of organisations opposed to the BNP's racist hate to join in marching in unity against hate and division.

Please come along and bring your friends and family, union banners welcome.

Secretary

Richard Buckwell
