Chase that crazy beenie out of town& Nottingham carnival

Green syndicalist | 04.07.2009 21:22 | Gender | Social Struggles

""inciting the murder of homosexuals, with lyrics such as, "I'm dreaming of a new Jamaica, come to execute all the gays""
He is soiling the nottingham Caribbean carnival right now & will be at Isis night club in Lenton until 5am tonight

"In "Mi Nah Wallah", he says he would like to cut the throats of all gay men.[18] In "Bad Man Chi Chi Man" the lyric instruct listeners to kill gay deejays, and in "Han Up Deh", the lyric suggests hanging lesbians with a long piece of rope."

Bizarelly he came to be famous doing covers of chase them crazy baldheads by Bob Marley. If he doesnt mean it he should make donations to human rights organisations like Outrage or be arrested. Before anyone moans, anarchists& internationals arrested fascists before, after & during world war 2 from spain to Germany, way before Soviets or the US government got involved.

Shame on Nottingham Carnival & the carnival community organisers, this is a human rights issue, incitement to murder any social group or group of people is wrong.

04.07.2009 21:42

the Nottingham univesity hospital trust & Lidl, so feel free to call them & tell them what you think. Nottingham council is the main sponsor 01159155555.

Jeehozaphat, I only went down there to stop the BNPs red white & poo festival& meet some gorgeous girls,
for goodness sakes carnival organisers, sort it out or get funding cuts + boycotts!

Has he gone back on that?

04.07.2009 22:40

Apparently he renounced that shit:

 http://www.jamaicans.com/news/announcements/Reggaestarsrenouncehomophobia062007.shtml

Though don't know much about his music these days, or whether he still does any of those songs?

Erp

And another thing.

04.07.2009 22:42

You haven't mentioned that in your article so it makes it look like you don't know what you're talking about.

Erp

thanks for the update, there was alot of controversy in Nottingham about this

05.07.2009 00:58

& wikipedia+ google searches didnt come up with any info on this. I didnt have time to do more research,
its good to hear that Beenie man has renounced it, well done to hime for being a real man.

My apologies on a postcard for being imperfect, goes to show that you cant even rely on more than 5 sources sometimes.

I called this after hearing there were calls for his performance to be axed on the bbc, I even rang them up to double check, but they were abit vague.
They didnt mention the deal you mention or that he was playing at Isis.

But...

... later denied signing the 'Reggae Compassionate Act' in a Jamaican newspaper interview and made it clear that condone a gay lifestyle.

reaction to stop RWB posters was good in town & in Radford

07.07.2009 20:42

great carnival & good reaction to stop the BNP info as usual only 2 bad reactions out of 100s. One I noticed was from a violent BNP drunk in town, who was laughed at & denounced.
