Hull Live Exports Demo - Report

In solidarity with the demo in Dover, 35 activists met at Hull Docks to demo and expose their cruel involvement with the import and export of sheep, pigs and horses. The police presence was surprisingly small at the dock front, only 9 stood and watched as activists shouted and chanted "Stop Live Exports Animal Abuse!"

Bradford Students sit-in to support lecturers

Following recent announcements that AUT/NATFHE lecturers who refuse to mark exams will be subjected to a pay cut of 25%, around 75 students at University of Bradford occupied the corridor outside the vice-chancellor's office. With lots of Samba and a discussion with the pro-VC, a meeting between AUT, Uni and Students Union reps was agreed.

Approximately 70 people took part in a procession to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the nuclear disaster in Chernobyl on Saturday 30 April. A small group of student activists also protested against the Dalton Nuclear Research Institute at Manchester University.
