Earth First! Summer gathering 2006

The Earth First! Summer Gathering 2006 will take place from Wed 16th to Sun 20th August 2006. The location will be at a new site in Wales.

The Earth First! Summer Gathering is the place where people involved in radical ecological direct action - or those who want to be involved - get together for five days of time and space to talk, walk, share skills, learn, play, rant, find out what's going on, find out what's next, live outside, strategise, hang out, incite, laugh and conspire.
More info will be put up on the website as it comes together.

Why not have the gathering on Hampstead Heath?

There is an excellent oasis of over 800 acres of wild open countryside just four miles from central London called Hampstead Heath. This would be an ideal local for the Earth First summer gathering. There is plenty of space to camp and vast tracts of woodland and meadows.

why would "just 4 miles from central London" in any possible way be an advantage....?!!

My guess is you live inside the M25 - there's life out here, though not as you know it.

Seriously though, if you want to be involved in putting this event on, why not get in touch with them and get involved?
