Birmingham Critical Mass Needs You!

Let's goto Mass! | 11.04.2006 17:21 | Ecology | Free Spaces | Birmingham

Below are some pictures of April's Critical Mass in Birmingham City Centre where cyclists and other users of non-polluting forms of transport meet up and reclaim some of the City's streets on the first Friday of every month.

With temperatures slowly climbing and days finally getting longer, it would seem that more people would be attracted to coming together on a Friday evening to reclaim some of our congested and polluted streets. This month's turnout, however, wasn't exactly spectacular. Nevertheless, we managed to get enough people together for the Mass and the ride was interesting to say the least. At least two cars seemed intent on intimidating us with one dangerously mounting the pavement to undertake us at speed on Hagley Road. No one was hurt, of course, apart from perhaps the bruised egos of a couple of motorists trapped in their steel cans accelerating the planet's climate change...

Your local Critical Mass needs you!

Get into gear and let's make sure the next Mass in May is one to remember!
