Indy Film Showing in Birmingham

Helen L | 24.05.2006 16:23 | Birmingham

I am wondering if there is a regular alternative film showing in Birmingham and if not is anyone interested in starting one.

Is anyone interested in trying to organise a regular film showing in Birmingham. I have been to the night in Nottingham at the SUMAC centre and really enjoyed it and just wondered if there was anything like that in Birmingham and if not is any one interested in setting one up?

Thanks

Hey great to hear you want to get involved in screenings!

If you want to get involved in putting on some screenings sign up to our mailing list here:  http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/listinfo/imc-birmingham

Although we've had a couple of setbacks recently, notably at Drop Beats not Bombs where the theatre's management refused us access to the cinema, Brum Indymedia screenings are very much alive and kicking, but we could always do with some more help and plenty of input :)

We've got two films coming up that are going to be screened at the mac, and it looks like we're going to do another guerilla screening during the June refugee week sleepout in association with noborders and the anti-racist campaign.

Thursday 29 June: Wal Mart:'The High Cost of Low Price'

July: Everyone their Grain of Sand  http://lists.indymedia.org/pipermail/imc-birmingham/2006-April/0428-lq.html

We've been showing films fairly regularly other the last couple of years in venues all over Birmingham. You can take a look at our Twiki pages to find out more:

And here's a catalogue of our films too:

hope that helps!
