Ex Royal Engineer commando being Made homeless
by Coventry Whitefriars Housing group

52 year old male with asthma. A Whitefriars tenant who refuses to take eviction laying down having had his tenancy demoted by the court to a assured short hold periodic tenancy without legal representation in September 2006

He has started a one mans campaign walking the streets of Coventry
highlighting evictions without access to legal representation and victimised by landlord for making legitimate complaints.

Whitefriars know people cannot access the Coventry law centre because for housing advice one has to first telephone for initial advice (024 76253167) on Monday & Wednesday between 2.00 pm and 4.00 pm which is always engaged
Several organisations like the Coventry Cyrenians and the Coventry citizens advice bureau have tried without success.
What the backpack poster says

Not violent, drug addict or alcoholic. Just made homeless by Whitefriars without legal representation
Why? Because one neighbour made false noise complaints that he was making and blamed him for it .

Have petition from all my other neighbours saying I was not noisy and a good neighbour

And letter from environmental services confirming my one complaining neighbour was making the noise

The real reason he was evicted was because he was complaining about
1 Main tower block front door being continually broken, which resulted in non residents hanging around the flat corridors, Taking drugs and breaking into flats and cutting exposed telephone wires and cables.

2 repairs to flats lifts that take months to repair

3 that tenants could not get a free view T.V signal and had bad T.V reception due to the faulty communal Arial

Whitefriars have issued a lying press release which they also published on the internet which can be seen at
 http://www.whitefriarshousing.co.uk/documents/press-releases/060922-tenant-gets-last-chance.pdf

to counter this a online blog has been set up at

called
The truth about Whitefriars press release called Tenant gets last chance

The latest news is that Whitefriars have given notice requiring possession on 5th February 2007 with their intention to apply to the court for an order for possession which the court must make where an assured short hold tenancy has become a periodic tenancy.

just a sign of the times

19.01.2007 14:23

It seems these days not a day goes by without the government introducing new ways of circumventing the legal process. With powers that are supposed to be used to fight terrorism used against people who issues that they can only highlight on the streets

Criminalizing a generation of young people with asboes rather then address the causes of anti social behaviour

Making people homeless with Tenancy Demotion orders that social landlords like whitefriars have use to evict complaining tenants knowing people cannot get access to legal representation in the city.

These days we seem to have a mirad of badly trained psudo policeman walking the streets as landlord estate wardens, council wardens ,police community support officers and city centre security staff . Now we have landlords security staff patrolling tower blocks acting like prison wardens.

I suppose its ok for homeowners who do not have to put up with a cure to social ills that seems worse then the disease.

Things have changed a lot and for the worst.
We have troops fighting illegal wars
Extraditing British citizens to be tortured by American third parties and doing the kind of stuff you would associate with the world war Japanese and nazis.

The government talks a lot about respect but show the opposite to people here and abroad. I guess it’s the American way. Whatever it does not seem there is a lot left of the united kingdom left to be proud off.

I remember when Tony Blair came into power with the slogan things can only get better . If the conservative government were labelled the nasty party labour are winning that label hands down.

Mr Brown talks of England as being a country of fair play and tolerance. Really fair play would be to say how many people in prison were brought up in government parental care rather then scapegoat the asbo parents.

I think people see a twisted and convoluted government and it is not surprising that the establishment follow there lead.
Its not surprising for our troops to come home with the same attitude to human rights and respect for life that they have experienced in Iraq and Afghanistan.
How long before what they do there is translated to what is acceptable here.

How bad can it get if we follow the American way of how they treated their own people in New Orleans.
Is the new world order perpetual war on terrorism fought in a way that effects us more then the terrorist. I watch the news and it all looks like a lot of home goals that Ben laden must be very happy with.

P.S please do not construe anything I have written as supporting terrorism or violence to anybody just telling it as I see it.

warning to all housing association tenants

19.01.2007 17:39

The treatment of this Housing Association tenant should serve as a warning to all council tenants facing privatisation of their housing stock.

If you go down the housing association route, you lose your tenancy rights.

Tenants that are seen as trouble makers, that is those that criticise the housing association, are targeted and evicted.

Peter Sandy, a tenant activist was repeatedly targeted by Pavilion and threatened with eviction. Now he is a councillor, mates of Pavilion at the Rotten Borough, especially head of housing, are trying to get him kicked out as a councillor by peddling a pack of lies to the Standards Board for England.

Even if you are a secure tenant, you are not safe.

Pavilion tenants at Firgrove Court in Farnborough are being kicked out of their homes by Pavilion, in order that their homes may be demolished to enable the land to be sold for a car park for an unwanted superstore. The existing tenants are being forced out by allowing their homes to fall into disrepair. Rushmoor head of housing Alison Whiteley turns a blind eye to the state of their homes, condones Pavilion ripping out kitchens, bathrooms and boilers of empty properties to render them uninhabitable.

 http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2007/01/359825.html?c=on

A year ago, Pavilion was taken over by Eastleigh-based Atlantic to form First Wessex. Down in Eastleigh, Atlantic are kicking old people out of bungalows in order that their homes can be demolished to make way for flats.

Up North, Sunderland Housing Group is hounding any critics.

Keith
