Birmingham Guantanamo Campaign | 15.02.2007 13:08 | Repression | Terror War | Birmingham

The film 'Outlawed: Extraordinary Rendition, Torture and the Disappearances in the “War on Terror” ' will be shown on Thursday 22nd February at 7.30pm at CafeOne (directions).

This documentary is produced by Witness who are a non-profit group based in Brooklyn, NY who have been documenting human rights abuses since 1992. The film delves into the illegal practices which the Bush and Clinton administrations partook in, and the broad-based collusion by European, Asian and African governments. The effects of these practices have been to fan the flames of extremism and give other countries carte blanche to carry out similar human rights abuses. The showing will be followed by a discussion of the issues highlighted in the film, and the relation to the activities of the Birmingham Guantanamo Campaign.
