Talk on anti-displacement movements in Indonesia and the Subcontinent

Dear friends,

Due to his ill health Prof. Ram Puniyani is not able to travel to Birmingham. Instead we would be talking about anti-displacement movements and Special Economic Zones in Indonesia and the Subcontinent.

We have invited Anto Sangadji, an Indonesian anti-displacement activist, to talk about his work with the indigenous people on various campaigns against forcible eviction and handover of land to transnational coorporations. Thomas Sebastian, a political economist, would be presenting his views on similar phenomenon of south asian Special Economic Zones.

Venue: IWA Centre (Shaheed Udham Singh Centre), 346 Soho Road, Birmingham B21 9QI
Date/Time: Tuesday 18th March, 7.30pm
