EDL fail in Walsall

AntiFa | 03.03.2012 21:28 | Anti-racism | Birmingham

For the past month the EDL's youth division have been threatening to unleash a violent demo on Walsall on 3rd March. Richard Johnson the main organiser of the demo and member of the youth division who lives in Rushall, West Midlands, claimed he couldn’t wait to 'smash the dirty curry munchers'. Another member Mart Bradders who refers to the local Muslim community as 'dirty pakies' threatened to bring pigs blood. Johnson claimed he'd ideally like 300 people to show up but expected the numbers to be more like 60-100. The actual turnout must have been a big disappointment for him then.

The Demo was planned to start at 1pm outside the Weatherspoons pub, an antifascist counter demo made up of locals and people from around the West Midlands began to gather opposite the pub along with a police van however there was no sign of the fash. Two hours later a group of 4-5 EDL youth members decided to show up, and by youth members I mean they barely looked old enough to be out of school. They were stopped by police and then ran off when they saw a group of antifascist's who greatly outnumbered them approaching. So a fairly successful day of keeping the fash of the streets.
