This is not new information for anyone who was not taken in by the western stunts of "dictator" versus "democracy" disinformation campaigns and maybe will be a lesson for the naive who want to "support the workers" regardless of their political orientation or backing.

He was planning to use the gold to create a gold-backed currency for Africa and the Middle East. It would have hammered the US dollar and Euro,
A senior US financier or bankster says the Libya gold may never be found,
He won't be found because the IMF and major banks like JP MOrgan will be using it to back their currency swaps and deals to raise money to stop European and US banks from going bankrupt.
