Festival Against the Nazi's

Manchester Against Racism | 04.04.2004 20:16 | Anti-racism

Manchester’s multi-cultural best are coming together in late April to unite the city against racism and stop the rise of the fascist BNP.

The music and cultural sub-group of Manchester Against Racism / Unite against Fascism (MAR) has organised a week-long festival of events at venues across Manchester culminating in a performance by all-star urban artists on an open-air stage as the centre-piece of the Futuresonic04 festival.

The festival will cater for a wide range of tastes, with events ranging from a Blood & Fire reggae and dancehall night to an evening of Love Poetry Hate Racism at Stockport’s Blue Cat Café.

The aims of the festival are to promote the anti-racist cause and to mobilise people in the North West to use their vote in the local and European elections on the 10th June this year. A high voter turnout is critical in stopping the BNP from making electoral inroads in Manchester and the North West. Together we can defeat the BNP’s message of division and hatred.

The line-up of the Festival Against the Nazis confirmed so far is:

Hang All The Nazi Scum Starting With Nick Griffen "BNP Leader"

06.04.2004 19:24

Respect to all Nazi haters, let's party and string the nazi's up by their balls.

(we can't offer you the excitement of stringing anyone up, we leave the violence and threats to the fascists, we rely on numbers and argument, soft liberals eh?)

RIght Wing, Left Wing - Same Old Difference

07.04.2004 13:51

Considering the BNP are apparently Nationalist SOCIALISTS because there right wing like the Nazi's i accuse this site of supporting the far left antics of Stalin and the Soviet Union in the murdering of political enemies imagined and real in concentration camps.

My point is that the 'wing' system goes both ways. I would like to point out i do NOT support the BNP and i hate the right wing and there racist views. Similarly i despise the left wing just as badly for there twisting of opinion into things they quote as being facts.

Us Liberals are the future. We will storm to victory in the next election with are free soy for everyone deal. You just wait.

Hello...reality check!!!

08.04.2004 11:31

Whilst you are having a party in honour of a bunch of racist thugs who have no chance of gaining any real power, the fascists in government are already implementing tyranny under your noses. Or would you deny that we live at the mild end of a police state spectrum. Can you deny that biometric technology is a grave infringement of civil liberties. Do you feel free? As free as you felt twenty years ago under Thatcher?

I couldn't make a convincing case to suggest that the BNP were an intentional distraction. But whilst you are concentrating on these morons the magician is stealing your liberties from your pockets.

As for socialism, there is little difference between the pre-war National Socialists of Germany and the tide of SWP which seems to flood every political event.

Try to talk to them about The New World Order (openly announced by George Bush Snr on September 11th 1990) and you will be bombarded with accusations of being either a conspiracy theorist or, funnier still, an anti-semite!

Most SWP minions don't seem to have enough brain power to realise that they represent what they are supposedly fighting against. Those above presumably relish the prospect of power.

Tyrrany comes in many hues. Freedom, to the best of my knowledge is colourless and odourless.

I DON'T Like The BNP. Thats DON'T.

08.04.2004 21:12

I don't like the BNP so i am hardly going to have a party on there behalf. My point was that you Racist BNP members with your outdated views, together with the Soviet Scum on the left are going to feel the wrath of us - the centre.

Kennedy is going to be next prime minister. No doubt.

Why the debate?

12.04.2004 16:52

If the BNP were to win a seat in the European elections it would give them their biggist platform yet from which to spout their race hate propaganda. It would also be a big step in their bid to present themselves as a legitimate political party. Surely you agree that anything that sets out to try and prevent this from happening is a good thing.

I also think its very patronising to suggest that because we are attempting to stop the BNP we are somehow oblivious to the racist and often worryingly totalitarian policies of the current labour government.

As for there being little difference between the Nazi's and the SWP, please explain, because other than the word "socialist" i can't think of a single similarity.

Tony
