Video; Saint Bob Geldof licked my camera. Crazy Interview

Mick Fuzz | 05.07.2005 19:05 | Globalisation | Social Struggles | Birmingham

We saw him from the bus and ran to interview him. It's difficult to tell from this short interview how deeply this man cares about Africa. To be honest he seems quite tired and a little strung out from Live8. Rather than comment he licked the camera.

He did do a little endorsement for independent media however which is nice.

He makes me vomit

05.07.2005 23:02

This disgusting pig just only works for the same employer as Blair and Bush and is there to help shift the issues from Iraq to Africa. No one in the showbizz works more for the "NWO" than Geldof and Bono. Bye.

Celebs

06.07.2005 10:27

i don't need celebs, i need those who are fair and honest and understand and share and are socialized with everybody not only those who they feel they are synonimous with, the rule is money shakes with money! i survive of my brain not their words!!!!!!!!!!!!!
why the rat didn't kiss the camera! he ought to love it, it made him to prosper as all other lipstic suckers!

stop your cynicism

06.07.2005 14:55

you can be cynical, but how many of you put the issue on the
front page of every newspaper. A story that ran for weeks. How many
people do you think even knew what G8 was before live8? If the concert
only converted 1 person, well that's one more person joining your ranks
right? One more person trying to make a difference. Geldolf is not
stupid. He is playing the game as much as the politicians and celebs are
- he is using them as much as they are using him. come on lets work together for a change!

Quit the bashing

06.07.2005 18:40

When someone such as Geldof puts himself out there for a cause - everyone thinks they have the right to bash him and dehumanise him for merely trying to draw attention to a cause.
He is not perfect, nor are any of us, yet how many people sit on their lazy arses and throw comments and attitude towards those who do try to make a difference.
He has a public image and he can really use it to make a difference. He is trying to help and raise awareness and money and I think that is always a good thing. It is also about educating the majority of people who only get passionate about issues such as the cable TV being out, or no hot water for their shower for a hour due to technical difficulties. He opens peoples minds and evey to what is going on in the world.
You can not compare what goes on in Africa and Iraq.
You can not say he is taking attention away from one in order to divert the public.
All he is doing is trying to help a situation that has been going on and on for way too long, and will probably continue to.
If someone did a concert like this for Breast Cancer or Aids or a concert against domestic abuse would everyone bash them for that too??

billionaire bill

07.07.2005 00:00

yeah bill gates is the richest man in the world but he's nowhere near the worst. he is handing over all his $100 BILLION wealth to charity in his lifetime except for $20 Million for his son. Would you do that if you had it? Well maybe but all the other rich F*****S aren't.

bob geldof interview

10.07.2005 18:09

great footage. i think our bob is giving credit - he cannot lambast his own event - he's done the best he can pulling together his best idea's and has done more good work than most.
bill gates - a mistake. we all make them.
i think he's giving a rye sign of respect to the next generation - maybe he's getting off on the independant thought sprung from his event. live 8 was to promote discussion and it's helping his cause to find fault or favour with it.
after all, anything that keeps us talking around the issues, no?

bob fuckoff

13.07.2005 17:04

when he claims the G8 a victory for Africa when the 'aid' is a repackaging of existing promises, and is 70% tied to buying US goods & services,

when the very Make Poverty History mainstream charities he was working with issue statements of outrage and sadness at G8 announcements and Bob Geldof's sycophancy,

when he condems tactics he knows little about to perpetuate the state's agenda of good and bad protestors,

when in tabloids the concert was covered in much detail about the acts but the self-same papers made zero mention of the march that day, when one person converted means nothing in the face of the death and destruction going on on this planet due to our consumption, to Blair's pushing of privatised IMF solutions in poor countries (with Geldof's left hand somewhere warm; right hand is reserved for Bill Gates), when Geldof abuses his powerful position with his ignorance and prejudices, when we were saddened by what he said after having liked his music all those years ago,

do you still wonder why people criticise him.

Doing a great job!

08.11.2005 16:42

I think that Bob geldof is doing an amazing job. He is doing something for the people in Africa. A hell of a lot more than all you people sitting on your arses moaning about him. What have you done? Are you getting out there and crossing boundaries that many people would never have dared cross? He is doing something for the people in need, and i for one would like to say thankyou to him, for doing all this great work.
