Protest against police brutality

Crusty anarchist | 24.01.2007 18:24

A demo in response to the actions of the police on last saturdays illegal rave.

Taken from the daylite robbery soundsystem website, it doesn't say on the site what time it is on at, but it is as far as i am aware at 4 o clock.

"BIG protest against police (brutality) 17th February

Get down to Cathedral Gardens (aka Urbis) in Manchester to protest against police action against the innocent (as seen at "The Battle Of Belle Vue, aka MRSA freeparty 20/01/07") and STAND YOUR GROUND AGAINST THIS FASCIST REGIME HIDING ITSELF UNDER THE CLOAK OF "DEMOCRACY"!!! Do your bit. If you have a complaint against GMP for the action it took on the night of the rave, go to the Independant Police Complaints Commission and tell them what you know-don't "sex it up" (that's the government's job) the TRUTH is enough.
ALSO- Get to Manchester Magistrates Court on Friday afternoon at 1.45pm to stand with a girl who was savaged by pig bastards to be arrested for defending herself against 6 foot plus officers with batons. If you make your way to the courthouse you'll notice a presence of people who are campaigning against the police action taken on Saturday, JOIN THEM!!! Rally around this innocent young girl and show the magistrates EXACTLY how many of us can make it down to defend our rights.
BE PATRIOTIC, MAKE BRITAIN GREAT AGAIN. FIGHT THOSE WHO ONLY CARE ABOUT THEMSELVES AND THEIR MONEY. VIVA LA REVOLUTION, MOTHERFUCKERS!!!
repost this to DEATH! SKUM-PARTY!!!"

Battle Scars

31.01.2007 00:48

This is the bruising I developed on the back of my right thigh after a member of the TAU hit me with a baton at the attempted rave on Jan 20th. Shortly afterwards I was arrested for assaulting a police officer.

Is it worth me coming with children?

29.01.2007 13:50

Hiya

I couldn't make it down to the court on Friday due to school collection arrangements, but had made plans to make it on 17th. Now that the date has changed to the 3rd, my partner is unable to make it with me, and I will still have children (two under 10yrs) to look after - is it worth me coming down and bringing them too? Obviously as a concerned parent I don't want them to be caught up in anything violent, but on the flipside I don't want them growing up in a country where 'thugs in uniform' are allowed to get away with this sort of thing, coz it'll only perpetuate itself and who knows what liberties they will have to do without when they are older...

Are the police any less likely to start anything if there are children in the crowd? Are there gonna be any other parents there that I could maybe share childcare with?

Any thoughts would be welcomed.

Bring Children...

30.01.2007 14:27

This is in response to Justifiable Paranoia's comment, YES, DO BRING THE KIDS ALONG. Let them know that PEOPLE can and do stand up for what is right. This will be a peaceful protest, I honestly don't think the police will even try to disperse the crowd- we are legally entitled to protest. It's also broad daylight in the city centre. I shouldn't imagine they would get away with brutality under these circumstances. V.L.R!!!
