JACK STRAW in Rose Hill on Friday afternoon 16th January

Jack Straw's visit to Oxford on Friday 16th January is CONFIRMED.
He will come to the Family Centre, The Oval, Rose Hill for a meeting starting at 2.30pm and ending around 4.30, as part of the Labour Party's "Big Conversation".
Maybe people have a few choice words for one of our top warmongers?

A few choice ones

Straw's Big Contribution

How nice for jack to get a chance to see where normal people live.

Anyone for a sweepstake on when the Council decide they can't afford to keep the Family Centre open?

Jack - bring the 4x4 coz the roads haven't been maintained very well round there, and that driver of yours who 'sped' you to that infamous 'urgent' meeting, might come in useful when it's time to leave Rose Hill (and instantly forget all about it).

fed up

hmm

Not sure about that comment from 'DSon'. What's Jack Straw's nose + name got to do with the government's foreign policy? Anti-Zionism is fine but anti-semitism is racism.

concerned

Jack Straw escapes (mostly) unhassled

Not much to report really, there were only 3 protesters, the cops clocked us as such and wouldn't let us in.

What I didn't realise was that he was coming to the Rose Hill Family Centre specifically to talk about childcare! Of course we should grab any chance we get to tell our politicians what we think of them, but this info would have been useful...

So we waited until he came out, and shouted at him a bit. Afterwards, one of the cops thanked us for being 'decent'. Grr.

I wish we could've done more, but for a handful of unprepared people it's difficult.

Oh well. There'll be other times :P

3 Protesters Shows Popularity of Cause

Well three protesters to 64 million people in the United Kingdom. You should start a political party. It already has 3 more people than the tories. You can't blame the police for stopping you protest only yourself. If you had turned up with a 3-barrel shotgun the police would let you protest as much as you want. (intil the armed ones show up 4 hours later)
