pics from Glasgow

The demo in Glasgow was absolutely massive. Here are the first pictures of a very, very small part of the demo. There were wonderfull, colourful banners, other diy stuff and at least three or four really good sounding samba bands and puppets and loads more. For one person it was pretty much impossible to catch all, it was too big, so please send in more reports and pictures. (article 1)

anchoring the pics

picture 1:
the big anarcho-peace dove

pic2:
standing in front of secc, wanting to get in...

pic3:
actually this picture is totally accidently here. I have no memories of a pink and silver block having been there. I expected a pic of secc in here with police and police horses and the weird architecture. I don't even know if it is a picture of my database or of somebody elses.
Nice picture though. And there were a bunch of silver flags, but with red, green and red stars on.

pic4:
the big peace dove, in front "The m@gic c@rpet". Unfortunately it couldn't fly over police lines yesterday...

pic5:
"fight the bosses not their wars." in front of the white anarchist banner saying:"War is the health of the state-smash capitalism".

pic6:
random picture into the demo, near the end, where all "undefined groups and individuals" were put. There was a strict administrative structural organisation which group was allowed to march where, if somebody did not obey, there were arguments with the stewards and the by-standing police ready to intervene on stewards behalves.

pic7:
as you can see, nice sunny bright day, which is normally quite rare on the west-coast. how nice that we could enjoy the sunlight and the drumming bands and the colourfull puppets and banners and the nice genuine, honest and friendly people on the peace march- and labour delegates couldn't. nanananana!

pic8:
actually the digital camera was faulty- so here is another- "look it works now, take a picture quickly!" random pic of the end of the demo.

pic 9:
the talks at the end. Actually hardly anybody could hear anything, but nevertheless there was a big crowd gathering around them just for entertainment. Actually lots of people were leaving very quickly after the demo arrived at the conference.

Huge event

24.02.2003 00:31

Biggest Dundee turnout to a demo not in Dundee (should be an Oscar category) since, maybe, UCS. 8 coaches + 2 double deckers + all those who made their own ways through. Come and protest in Dundee at Scottish Labour Party Conf, March 22nd. Details to follow.
