Glasgow Autonomous Project is a collective working towards the creation of a community action resource centre in Glasgow. At the moment we are raising money and awareness through putting on benefit gigs, film-screenings, and other events.

UPCOMING EVENTS FOR APRIL & MAY

Saturday 17th April, 1pm, Kinning Park Complex, Cornwall St
Scotland speaking tour of Iraq eye witness, Ewa Jasiewicz
For the last eight months Ewa has been living in Baghdad and Basra, supporting human rights groups, women’s organisations, families, workers, trade unionists and Palestinian refugees. GAP is organising a participatory workshop event as part of the tour at the Kinning Park Complex. (The old school building opposite Kinning Park underground – entrance at rear). Glasgow Autonomous Project Benefit gig
Three bands, a GAP info-stall, Someone Playing Records, and a chance to help raise money for the autonomous centre. All for just two quid (or more if you’re feeling generous…)
Playing live will be:
* Echobass - a rip-roaring teenage Glasgow band who describe themselves as “loud, angry and loud, but kind of melodic”
* Santa Lucia – they’ve got a cello. What more do you want?
* My Granny’s Boyfriend - a top pop combo with many fine indie tunes and at least one decent haircut

Friday 30th April, from 8pm, Nice n Sleazy, Sauchiehall St
Pre- May Day Punky-Reggae Party
Dance the night away to some real reggae sounds from Mungo’s HiFi, and jump around to some good old punk rock music from Someone Playing Records.

Pick up some May Day paraphernalia – flags, banners, placards, t-shirts and stuff, and peruse some propaganda from the GAP info stall and books, zines and pamphlets from AK Press.

Glasgow's annual anti-capitalist street festival takes over the streets, with sound systems, performers and YOU. Celebrate ! Demonstrate ! Create !
