Refugee Play at Printworks Social Centre, Glasgow

michael c | 08.06.2004 12:59 | Migration

Friday 18th June at 7:30pm

This is the final chance to see the play, Washing Line of Wishes, which is an original drama devised with volunteers from refugee communities in Glasgow. The play challenges racism, discrimination and shows the human reality behind the media frenzy.

The story follows Sam and Annie. They live in a treehouse in a forest. The residents of the nearby village are threatened by these new arrivals, and create elaborate myths and rumours about the mysterious pair until one day someone makes contact and things start to change…

At the Printworks Social Centre, 58 Albion St, Merchant City, Glasgow
Tickets on the door - £3.00 (and donations requested for the fund for destitute refugees)

Come along and see the play, then stay on at the Centre to listen to some music, check out the information stalls, meet some people involved in the Centre and with supporting refugees in Glasgow, and find out how you can get involved.
