EU counter summit in Luxembourg: status of the preperations

Only one month left until the (anti-) european counter summit in Luxembourg.
Whilst in the European public everybody is paying attention to the EU constitution and fear or hope its rejection, networks of the radical left and anarchists in Luxembourg have initiated protests against a Europe of capitalism.

In july a referendum about the EU constitution will take place in Luxembourg. Because of the discussions about the constitution, the daily political business of the Luxembourg EU presidency has been nearly ignored and so approaches unobtrusively its end.

But we won't give in and thereby take the streets at the end of the presidency and make clear that there are enough reasons to sabotage Europe even without constitution.
Anarchist and antifaschist groups from Luxembourg, France, Belgium and Germay mobilise to a counter summit taking place from 16th-19th of june in Luxembourg.

The self-organised resistance camp has found a site, which has been approved by the local authorities, after the first place of our choice has been denied.
On a beautiful, formerly idustrially used spot in the south of Luxembourg we will now have a selforganised site to camp, cook, do workshops & gigs and plan actions. The catering has also been assured by food & cooking collectives from Belgium and the Netherlands.

Workshops on topics of CCTV, RFID – chips, squatting, legal work, anti-national networking, EU-nationalism, screen printing and many more are planned.
A preliminary list is on the homepage.

There is a big gig on the 17th of june wit 5-6 bands from France, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Ireland and Belgium. There will also be gigs on Saturday evening. A preliminary, incomplete programm is available on the internet.

- Even on the 16th there will be an early demonstration through the city quarters nearby the camp on the evening. The local citizens of the proletarean and migrants quarter in the south of Luxembourg will be greeted and the camp and the actions will be promoted.

- On the 18th there will be a demonstration through the city centre of Luxembourg, which starts at the railway station goes via the centre to the EU centre. During this demonstration and afterwards live music will be on the streets.
We don't want to forget Schengen, the small village in Luxembourg in which the
infamous contract about the murderous european border regime was signed.
A corresponding action and a collective day-out are planned.

- There will be an Indymedia Centre with public internet and computer access in the local infoshop “Schreibs”, and possibly the opportunity and facilities to do and multiply leaflets spontaneously.

Aside the previously mentioned, there will certainly be all these actions, which are not “prescribed” as such but which develop spontaneously or are planned by participants.

The whole thing is a DIY project, which is not supported by any NGOs or other sponsors, so therefore we are dependent on as many people as possible willing and active to make things happen. No matter if it is security on the camp, help with constructing and preparing the site or offering resources for camping, Revolution needs your help!
The legal and the medical teams would also be happy to welcome new forces in their teams. So, please contact us.

There will also be fundraising gigs in advance, on the 18th in Brussels, 26th in Trier, 28th in Brussels again, 29th of may in Luxembourg, with bands from the whole of Europe.
Please see the website for more information and exact details for the venues and the line-up of the bands. There will also be information and mobilisation events, and the ho,epage is again the referance for most up-to-date information.

Information materials will be available on the internet to download and print, and, when asked, we are also happy to send you some by mail.
Any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Take care and see you in june in Luxembourg.
