Stirling Palestine Solidarity Campaign has first victory

Since this post, the SPSC has managed to get the motion passed through SUSA senate.

The way that SUSA works is that once passed through senate it has to go for a referendum. Now the student body will decide if the SU students union will build links with Birziet University in the occupied territories of Palestine. The most controversial part of the motion read "that SUSA publicly condemns the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestine, the illegal wall and illegal settlements within Palestinian territory."

Oli, who visited Palestine during the summer, commented on the victory. "It was just great how many people actually voted in favour of the motion dispite of expectations. With this much support the outlook for the referendum looks good. Hopefully we can provide proper support to our fellow students in palestine and bring about justice to the palestinian people."

The referendum on the motion will happen on the 18th of September.
