Tyneside Deportation Stopped but the Struggle Continues! Demonstrate TOMORROW

Tyneside Community Action for Refugees (TCAR) | 13.03.2007 22:53 | Anti-racism | Migration | Social Struggles

EMERGENCY DEMONSTRATION this WEDNESDAY 14TH 08.30-10.00AM outside Government Offices North East near St Jame's Park, in opposition to deportation of 2 TCAR families

Two TCAR families have been facing deportation this week. Last week our emergency demonstration and work with the Erdogan family gave them the strength to resist deportation on the plane, now they have a fresh case however they are still facing illegal deportation this week (the Home office is currently denying their fresh case).

Also Joy and her daughter were facing deportation to Jamaica this week, we have mounted a national press campaign against their deportation but it is essential that we DEMONSTRATE ON THE STREETS and make sure that the HOME OFFICE realise that their actions are not without consequence and that WE WILL RESIST THEIR DEPORTATIONS OF TCAR MEMBERS!

Joy is also due to be interviewed on the BBC Breakfast programme at 8.20am tomorrow (Wednesday 14th March).

Of course most of the politics has been bled out of the situation in these accounts, with careful editing silencing Joy's statements on the need to struggle together against ALL deportations. But Joy will be on the demonstration tomorrow, and the struggle on the streets continues.

TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER! TOGETHER WE CAN WIN!

SOLIDARITY!
