Early this morning an action was mounted by the residents of Mainshill Solidarity camp in South Lanarkshire.
During this morning, an action was launched against scottish coal drilling rigs at the mainshill open cast protest site. Mainshill will shortly begin digging up 1.7 million tons of coal if the protesters lose this battle.
An experienced eco warrior from the camp succeeded breaking through the security guard ring protecting the drilling rig and scaled it. The protest is still ongoing as we speak. All work on the site has ground to a halt.
Mainshill desparately needs people to camp at the site in support of the protests- so if you have the time to meet some cool people who will teach you real activist skills in the art of environmental protests, then spend a week camping at Mainshill.
