Anti War Democracy Village : Serving soldiers join protest in Parliament Square

anon | 26.05.2010 03:56 | Iraq | Repression | Social Struggles | South Coast | World

Serving soldiers from the Royal Corps of Signals and the Parachute Regiment have joined the protest in Parliament Square against the war in Afghanistan. Boris Johnson has described the sight of the soldiers and supporters as "mess and squalor" and MPs have called the protest, including the soldiers, as a "national disgrace". The protest camp is against the war in Afghanistan but respects troops.

We respect our soldiers unlike Boris Johnson. Boris Johns has the gall to call the Democacry camp including soldiers as mess and squalor. MPs have the audacity to call the protesters including soldiers as a national disgrace.
We have an answer to Boris and the MPs who dare to say such things about our soldiers and the protesters.

Boris and the MPs, YOU go to Afghistan and Iraq to risk your lives in the place of the soldiers. How DARE you call the sight of our soldiers and their supporters as "mess and squalor" and a "national disgrace". Soldiers in and out of uniform have gone to Democracy Village in Parliament Square and said that they appreciate what the protesters are doing for them and that the protest camp against the war has support from all over the country, from serving soldiers and from "right wing Tory voters" among others.

If anything is a national disgrace it is the war. Mess and squalor are the conditions that soldiers are expected to survive in.

We are against the war and we respect and support our soldiers. Go to Democracy Village in Parliament Square and support them.

What if they were for the war?

Would they be welcome if they supported the war? Who does this 'Democracy Village' represent other than the views of the small amount of people there?

accurate?

these guys look like they are just having a look at the protest rather than being part of it.

Not soldiers

26.05.2010 11:44

The one on the right hasn’t got the correct uniform on (plan green stable belt isn’t worn with the C95 uniform he has on. It’s worn when “in the field”, over the top of a smock or when your doing your basic training) He should be wearing a coloured signals belt and have the signals flash on his sleeve. He’s also got some odd bum bag type thing on it?!

The one on the left (the para) is wearing a para smock, but look at his facial hair (side burns and under chin), when based in the UK that wouldn’t be allowed to be that long, and he wouldn’t have been allowed out of camp in uniform with facial hair like that.

They might be Solder, but there defintally not serving. Nothing but propaganda, C-, more effort needed next time.

A one of the Walker Brothers standing alongside Griffin in a desert camo outfit.

This is really sinking about as low as you can go

Black ops

26.05.2010 13:08

Well spotted. you guys are really on the ball. Perhaps the photos were taken by the same black ops team that sent the dodgy photos to Piers Morgan and regularly post negative comments on indymedia whenever there are large scale demos taking place?

To the soldier haters...the soldiers spoke to the Evening Standard to support DV

26.05.2010 17:08

Explain

26.05.2010 18:50

So I think this is BS propaganda I’m a Soldier hater? What would my knowledge of uniforms suggest to you??

This article:

 http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-23835268-peace-camp-will-be-evicted-to-save-queens-blushes-and-8201-especially-as-two-of-her-soldiers-are-among-protesters.do

Explain the uniforms?
Explain the lack of shaving?
Explain why 2 Soldiers who’s unit aren’t based in London were doing walking around the capital, during the week wearing uniforms?

So they say there serving Soldier’s so they must be?? In the future when you dress people up a Soldiers to support your cause do some research first.
