East lancs Lets has been advised (during a media workshop) to sell itself to the public.
It is has been suggested that we go Nationwide, via Press, Radio and TV to promote our funded Project 114/14 which is a project aimed at recruiting more members of the local communities to join Lets systems, and to work 'behind the scenes' more within those systems so that they do not just crumble.
An implementation plan is in order of how we hope to achieve completion of this plan in the time given, until November 2005, and now we just need willing volunteers from the current membership, or from people who are interested in joining the scheme and exchanging their goods and skills for credits known as 'lonks' instead of for cash/currency/money, to aid us in achieving it...either by extending the amount of tradings/exchanges they have been involved with, or by helping us out behind the schenes, working on various types of material we need to present to the media...photos of members exchanging their skills or displaying their goods, help with producing flyers and newsletters. Any skills would be most appreciated and you will be credited lonks for your time taken and skills exchanged.
The East Lancs Lets scheme has been working nicely, as have others around the country. One is Scotland is particularly successfull, having all 345 families in the area contributing.
