Israeli Rabbi Advocates Carpet-Bombing of Gaza

Zionism, Irrelevant Within A Generation | 31.05.2007 19:29 | Anti-racism | World

It's this type of thinking that created this mess in the first place, and why the Extremists holding Israel hostage in the Knesset won't negotiate or compromise for peace.

It's time for Israelis to stand up to these Ideologues, end their di*k-waving contest, and make peace once and for all.

Eliyahu advocates carpet bombing Gaza
By MATTHEW WAGNER

All civilians living in Gaza are collectively guilty for Kassam attacks on Sderot, former Sephardi chief rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu has written in a letter to Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.

(Then, by extension of thought, are not all Israelis guilty for Zionism's perpetual war to wipe Palestine off the map? Since the Zionists drew first blood, isn't it only right for these attacks to increase? Just pointing out the sheer insanity of such racist thinking.)

Eliyahu ruled that there was absolutely no moral prohibition against the indiscriminate killing of civilians during a potential massive military offensive on Gaza aimed at stopping the rocket launchings.

(Because Jewish lives, in his eyes, are worth more than the lives of the "beasts walking on two legs" in Gaza ...)

The letter, published in Olam Katan [Small World], a weekly pamphlet to be distributed in synagogues nationwide this Friday, cited the biblical story of the Shechem massacre (Genesis 34) and Maimonides' commentary (Laws of Kings 9, 14) on the story as proof texts for his legal decision.

(This would be akin to the Nazis distributing their Propaganda in churches, which they also did. Here's a great rebuttal to this "religious justification": Why Can't I Own a Canadian? www.humanistsofutah.org/2002/WhyCantIOwnACanadian_10-02.html)

According to Jewish war ethics, wrote Eliyahu, an entire city holds collective responsibility for the immoral behavior of individuals. In Gaza, the entire populace is responsible because they do nothing to stop the firing of Kassam rockets.

(In other words, Israel and Zionism are in violation of Jewish war ethics, because they are an Aggressor, which nobody does anything about - and worse - everyone is forced, by Israeli law, to partake in. See how Extremists like this contradict themselves? It's because their xenophobic and violent derangements are not based in logic.)

The former chief rabbi also said it was forbidden to risk the lives of Jews in Sderot or the lives of IDF soldiers for fear of injuring or killing Palestinian noncombatants living in Gaza.

(But by his standards, the entire war against Palestine is immoral, so who really cares?)

Eliyahu could not be reached for an interview. However, Eliyahu's son, Shmuel Eliyahu, who is chief rabbi of Safed, said his father opposed a ground troop incursion into Gaza that would endanger IDF soldiers. Rather, he advocated carpet bombing the general area from which the Kassams were launched, regardless of the price in Palestinian life.

(So, how is this any different than a radical cleric preaching hatred in some tiny mosque? Perhaps because these "Rabbis" reach a wider audience? Remember the passages about the Devil coming in many disguises ...)

"If they don't stop after we kill 100, then we must kill a thousand," said Shmuel Eliyahu. "And if they do not stop after 1,000 then we must kill 10,000. If they still don't stop we must kill 100,000, even a million. Whatever it takes to make them stop."

(I shudder ...)

In the letter, Eliyahu quoted from Psalms. "I will pursue my enemies and apprehend them and I will not desist until I have eradicated them."

(Again, see "Why Can't I Own A Canadian" ...)

Eliyahu wrote that "This is a message to all leaders of the Jewish people not to be compassionate with those who shoot [rockets] at civilians in their houses."

It's also a message to Israelis of conscience, and the growing movement against such Zionist Extremism, "You are right. Keep at it".
