"REMEMBER EACH ELEVENTH". . . . the campaign. Dec 2007

. . . . have a good day "hey" | 01.12.2007 12:30 | Education | Other Press | Terror War | Oxford | World

Prior press/campaigners info about this december 11 week of action.
(The campaign also joins protests for free speech, seeing that (1) due to its inclusion of all types of people sometimes means people see only those they are accustomed to disagreeing with, but also (2) as it is sceptical of the "minderbinder warbux" fraudsters playing "tail-wag-dog" opinion-influencer games in a "house-of-cards" world - seeing them as much of the problem in our current situation, it has itself come across criminal censorship masquerading as "politics" . (you should hear some of the things its got called in the past! see the "humour" bit, later!)The campaign is actually trying to see the need to REMEMBER the past as a way of averting the recurrence of tragedies, seeing ways out of "catch 22" s, thus seeing the need to do this on other days, seeing as . . . . once a year isnt enough.

(yes- the campaign is across the world - hence choice of the date of the end of WW1 the "world war to end all wars" to echo - but louder. . . . )

Thought we'd cheer the censors up,
with a reminder of the aims of the campaign,
"intro" links (see title) - you do use search-engines . . . .
though "scroogle" seems to have screwed up a bit in recent times.

The "inclusion" of the campaign comes echoing the way the "stretcher carriers" were allowed to go out to pick up their wounded, etc, in the night - breaks in the wars - to see each other as people again . . . . equal. Like us.
Those occasions when we "REMEMBER" ( the eleventh of the eleventh, in the UK ) - but also the way we remember those from each "side" . . . . see the tragedy more in comparison to the "winners" or "losers" in those wars . . . .
The inscriptions - or lack of them - on such a lot of the war memorials - especially those that arent in that "cross" gravestone echo - the reason for that lack of religious symbol . . . .
What was once a tomb for a nameless soldiers body from the battles aftermath, that was buried "in state" - in the style of a king or a saint - as a gesture that we - as people - hoped that that WAS the "war to end all wars". The reason was to include those of all religions or spiritual traditions, but also those without a spiritual tradition, or that might have, for a bit, turned away from theirs after what they had seen in the trenches, or the wars. It was also to say, loud, as all saluted it, that EACH were special.
(further information - google ". . . . to remember : that does" with the "remember each eleventh" campaign.)
December, 2007, the week around the eleventh has quite a few things happening . . . . the old way of doing these things was often with a sort of "plausible denial" - to echo those informal semi-unities of sense-across-boundaries that often COMMENCES the stopping of the nastiest of wars.

This campaign to remember, plus, always did include the "mercenaries" or semi-unwitting "cannon-fodder" from the "wars within peace", despite THOSE plausible denials or the spin that scammed people into them. To some extent, of course, that means those from the "covert wars" in the home fronts too. . . . the need to remember, (to respect) is strengthened by the rage to remember (to enquire).
"How did we all get into THAT mess" often does stop you getting into worse messes in future.

This december 2007 the theme, it seems, is longshots, or the tales of bards as "blue sky thinking" metaphors, with the accent towards dystopias, then "how we got out of them", for reasons that probably dont need THAT much explaining.
But a few grins are quite good for "mind-stretching" too - so - a few topical bits of humour might do a bit of good too. . . .

ps- this post is put up on "world aids day" - respect to all those that remember friends, lovers, neighbours, daughters, sons or parents.
Often words aint enough, but - respect, support - strength for our ACTUAL progress to better futures DOES come from the good memories too - if we allow those good memories to obscure the tragedies sometimes too. Our experience.

humour despite it all . . . . follows with comments. Dec 2007.

. . . . have a good day "hey"
