Climate Camp Scotland/Mainshill Solidarity Camp

Douglas is a community surrounded by open cast coal mines. From the climate camp an entire hillside can be seen lit up at night by massive floodlights so the digging and bulldozing can go on - yep, the mines are in operation 24hrs a day.

Latest communcation from Scotland's Climate Camp says:

Scottish climate policy is hypocritical, contradictory and counter-productive.

*The Scottish government boasts of stringent targets to cuts emissions while squeezing North Sea oil reserves and approving new opencast coal mines. No wonder people are taking into their own hands to highlight this hypocrisy*
