Jailing dv residents is one step too far

Peace | 05.07.2010 06:35 | SOCPA | Iraq | Repression | Terror War | World

the gov have taken this one step too far.
some have suggested an eco village outside the prisons concerned. wandsworth common is on the doorstep.
some have suggested blasting them with some freeman truth. none of the judges are on their oaths for victimless crimes.

as you may know, 4 democracy village residents have been jailed for peacefully opposing the illegal w*rs in afghanistan and iraq.

simon, a seasoned peace campaigner, and one of the most peaceful tolerant people i know, has been jailed for 20 days for contempt of court for taking a peace flag in with him. Anita and Katie, more lovely peaceful people than you could hope to meet, have been jailed for 7 days for obstruction of parliament.

this is totally unacceptable in a so-called democracy. the government and army can kill hundreds of thousands in illegal w*rs yet men and women who peacefully stand up to them are jailed.

this shows how inherently weak the system is because it relies on overwhelming force, intimidation and draconian deterrents. true power will always overcome force, everytime.

afaik no judges are operating on their oaths because no one knows or dares to ask. see youtube - anti terrorist - standing in court (transcript on his website.

i've seen this used 7 times now and it's been done many more. afaik no judge has confirmed that he's operating on his oath for a victimless crime, and has preferred to leave the court rather than answer. keep doing it and they give up. with civil matters it's more difficult as there's no requirement to appear and judgements are made in your absence, sometimes even before you go to court!

it's pure money making and control.

Peace, Love, Compassion, Acceptance, Forgiveness and Abundance to all beings - Yes even the oppressors, else nothing will change. they are like they are because of a lack of love as children.

Oaths and habeas corpus

05.07.2010 08:04

If it is true that District Judge Nicholas Evans was not acting under his oath (is there a decent URL where Indymedia readers can find out more about this?), would it perhaps be worth filing a formal complaint and/or bringing a judicial review concerning the conduct of the judge? Perhaps he can be struck off for breaching his oath? What is there to lose?

Also, contempt of court is not a crime as such, so Simon appears to be receiving punishment without crime, in breach of his habeas corpus rights that stretch back to at least the Magna Carta. There is effectively little to distinguish his plight from that of prisoners held indefinitely without charge or trial in Guantanamo or Bagram, except that (hopefully) Simon isn't being hooded, shackled, tortured, etc, and his imprisonment will only be for ten (to twenty) days, instead of up to nine years or more.

Clearly the protests have got the powers of darkness rattled, and they are trying to deter others from following suit. But will they succeed?

Prison

05.07.2010 13:29

somebody went down to wandsworth prison this morning and may go down again tomorrow.

they blasted some freeman truth to the victims of this corrupt corporate system. it's unknown whether many inhabitants got to hear. a megaphone was escorted around the perimeter with some contact from the staff. it seems there's a training centre next door. it's an interesting place with some interesting spots nearby.

the prisoner support unit lady, a lawyer, seemed quite interested and open-minded.

it would be very useful if we could find out whether it can be heard and from where..

there's a judicial office nr petty france. i have the address and will post later.

judges must be held to their oaths.

was it civil or criminal contempt?

the problem is the solution. there's always remedy.

this shows how desperate and weak the system is. in that it must jail totally peaceful people to scare others from similar action.

the master asks the questions, the servant answers.

is there any lawful obligation on me to answer your questions?

is there any lawful obligation on me to [do what you say]?

sir/madam, would it be alright with you if i [do this or that] whilst retaining my unalienable rights?

for the record, i'll be [doing this or that] with a full reservation of my unalienable rights.

anything you make me do by way of threats is done under protest and duress.

the problem is the corporation, everything is corporate and money making.
my unalienable rights trump those of a corporate legal fiction every time. they only exist on paper, they cannot be a human victim.
we are governed and policed by consent. we can withdraw consent to be governed by a corrupt system.
a policeman has two roles which are displayed on their chests. eg. met police - government policy enforcement officer, a private corporate role. and constable [surname] - peace constable, a public protection role, there must be a human victim.

Exaggeration

05.07.2010 23:21

"4 democracy village residents have been jailed for peacefully opposing the illegal w*rs in afghanistan and iraq." Why the exaggeration? They were jailed for refusing to pay fines and for contempt of court. Keep it real.

Pass a fist

real enough

06.07.2010 08:52

It's real enough when, just by coincidence of course, those jailed jail are some of the key members of the village. people who've kept the peace & love when most would crumble.
